I agree with most of what has been said about this product. I am a regular cross-stitcher, so I do not consider myself a beginner. I will say that it is nice to have the pattern printed on the fabric and that makes it nice for working on when multitasking, such as watching TV, during conversations, or in the car. You won't need to do the "counting" of traditional counted cross stitch. I DID run out of thread, but I don't really find that a major issue. They are pretty when completed and can make a nice gift!

I loved the idea of smaller projects- I have a hard time staying with a bigger one. I was worried that there were no reviews but went for it, and now I am leaving a review of what I wish I knew before buying. The biggest thing is that it does not come with enough thread!! I’m halfway through one bookmark and almost out of black, so I can guarantee there’s not nearly enough of any color to finish out 6 bookmarks! Otherwise the patterns are cute and easy to understand. I do wish it specified in the directions how many pieces of thread to use but I found it in the images for the product (it’s 3). Otherwise I have enjoyed it. I haven’t tried to wash the print off but if there’s anything significant that happens I will update my review. Still glad I bought it but wish I had known the above.

If you are a true beginner these might not be for you. The instructions are vague and not much help. I found these to be more frustrating than relaxing.

While this is an okay kit I would much rather there be a shape key or wild color key to differentiate between colors. All the blues are really hard to tell the difference on. There is also not enough thread. I break it down to 3 strands and have had to buy 2 more skeins of a 1/3 of the colors.

The bookmarks are printed on canvas with no margins, there is only two stitches worth of fabric around the printed design, and the canvas is not finished in any way. I am afraid it will unravel. I like the designs, though. Not sure about the thread. I think they read other reviews saying there wasn't enough thread, because there was some extra in the package outside of original bag.
