Cheap can mean inexpensive or poor quality. So my headline says it all because it is inexpensive, and it's also very poor quality. Every time I've used this roller it "catches" and the roller simply stops rolling. The method this manufacturer used to connect the handle to the roller is "too" simple to be in a kitchen where a lot of baking is done - mine. Washing means taking it apart, cleaning the roller and handle then reassembling. The little "lock" (the piece of metal that flops around on the handle) does nothing of value.I will say the roller portion is smooth...but the fact that it catches all the time on the handle and stops rolling is hardly worth the hassle. Consider a different type - one that has a rod going through the roller.

Started to stick when rolling and one side pops out of the handle. Not a great tool.

I have used this type of roller many years for graphic arts projects. NO clay or dough rolling, so I don't need to disassemble for cleaning. The acrylic is smooth, true, and rolls without issue. Expensive for what it is, but I noticed (closer examination and user reviews) that the cheaper options available don't perform as well. Relatively expensive ... but I'm satisfied with my purchase.
