Recently refreshed our kids solid oak crib for the next generation of users, using Watco’s polyurethane wipe on finish (satin). Have used Watco products before and was expecting similar results, but ended up with a long lasting solvent smell that didn’t seem to go away.After waiting several weeks for the stink to die down, added a box of baking soda to try to absorb odor - a cheap and old fashioned solution - which didn’t seem to help.Purchased a few sizes of these odor removers from the mattress support (see photo) and finally knocked down the smell to an acceptable level. Odor is greatly reduced, I’d venture 95% less than where it was. This ended up being the perfect solution to a challenging product.Would this work on average, organic sources of odor? Based on my use with combating solvent smells from drying, I’d guess they would be great for many situations.

I was happily surprised to not smell anything old or musty in only a few hours. Very good product.

I bought these to try to get the smell of cigarette smoke out of my new (used) car. I first put a half cup or so of vinegar into two containers and left one in the drink well in the front and one on the floor in the back. Rolled up the windows and left the vinegar for a couple of days. Then I removed the vinegar and hung all of the charcoal odor absorbers. When I took my grandson to an appointment I asked him whether he noticed any smoke smell. He said no, it smells like charcoal. Hopefully, once I remove the absorbers, that smell will dissipate. But even if it doesn't, it's much better than the smell of cigarette smoke! Good product.

Love that it took the polyethylene smell out of a chest..works great, would definitely buy again.

Hard to say. I have used these in several areas for odd things. One was for the attic where clearly some small expired. Also used it in a wood china hutch that someone had stored potpourri in and the smell just clung to it. This had no effect whatsoever on eliminating that odor. As far as the attic thing goes I have not checked yet. Scared to. Also used in a coat closet where shoes were stored and unfortunately it smells like feet. Seemed to have no effect. So I haven't checked the attic, but in the other places I used them they did nothing. I have left them in the sun for two hours several times as instructed. Nothing. I don't think they do a thing.

This seemed to really help. I don't think it'll completely take a smell out of a room but it noticeably improves it.

Definitely took care of the musty smell and they "recharge" very well in the sun. Used them to help freshen up some vintage items that were given to us and am pleased that the smell was gone after some time.

These things really work. They eliminated odors in the closet. I used it in my son's closet and it works like a charm. I re purchased to put them in every closed space of my house.
