Love this. It's perfect for freestanding books. It's a bit wobbly if you fully extend it while empty, but once the books are added its nice and stable. I will be getting more in the future

My accordion bookshelf arrived last night. Immediately I opened the box; and I found that I had to install the special amenities: the pencil cup, the key hooks, and the tray. Then I discovered that these things would not stay attached to the main unit unless you use Elmer's to glue to keep them in place. (In my last picture, notice the bottom tray is cockeyed because it fell out of the receiving hole it is supposed to hook into. Also one of the 3 upper hooks is missing for the same reason.)As you can see from the photograph, this bookshelf goes on my living room furniture. That means it was necessary to add some kind of protective material under the metal. Luckily for me, I had some cork sheets ready to trim and stick on the book end bottoms where the metal meets the table. Many premium book ends already come with a sheet of cork applied to protect your furniture.When all is said and done, for six or seven dollars less, I could have bought a comparable unit that lacked the extra amenities. The amenities are made from lightweight (cheap) plastic.

My expectations were low for this.I am happy to say it completely exceeded them!It feels flims when you take it out of the package. That being said, once the books go in, it works like a charm.Affordable, sturdy, and functional.

The size and sturdiness of this expandable bookshelf was perfect for my needs. It was the right size with a divider to help separate and hold up heavier books, and the tray and pen holder were perfect for reading glasses and pens!!

I bought this to contain my multiple cookbooks that werr forever falling over in the small cupboard above the stove top. This is sturdy and expanded to hold my collection with no problem. I'm very pleased with it!
