I love this controller. Does everything I want it to and was easy to wire up. Its not preassembled so you can customize it to your vehicles needs. Everything is high quality in this kit, you will need some extra zip ties though (I did). The only part that I don't really care for too much is the temperature probe. You have to squeeze it in between the radiator fins and then its a hard wire into the control box, I wish it were something else like a low profile probe that could be stuck inside of a radiator hose, with a flexible wire back to the control box. No biggie though it works well, just a preference. If you opt to use the manual control switch from flex a lite be aware that you need to wire it according to the instructions that come with this control box and not the instructions that come with the manual switch, it will blow the control box (Learned the hard way). If anybody from flex a lite is reading this please fix this error or place a warning or something.

I wanted to like this module. After a failed Hayden relay/module unit cost me some stress due to overheating, I was looking for the "end-all" fan controller. I ordered this one from Amazon and haven't had it long enough to provide a worthy review. This review is preliminary so ignore it if your concern is for longevity.I was hoping for a solid state module, (without mechanical relays). According to the Flex-a-lite technical representative, "It is not". This means it has an internal relay of a sort, but if it fails - you must replace the entire module. The former Hayden unit this unit replaced had the generic plug-in automotive replaceable relay in it - (unfortunately, it was the control board that went bad on mine). But there are still a number of things to "like" on this unit. All connections are made via plugging in of crimp-on type spade connectors, which are provided - along with a healthy supply of the correct gauge wires for hook-up and a clear definition as to its power-handling capability. I like this wiring connector (or modular) approach compared to the potted hard-wired setup of the Hayden unit. But it was my phone call with the Flex-a-lite tech support that turned me off.I was wanting to know what voltage levels their control relay is designed for. I am specifically concerned with the AC over-ride signal. I am not fond of using the compressor clutch signal for this control since that would mean the fan is cycling on/off with the compressor - and therefore having less time to cool, (than say if it was connected to the signal that is generated by the "AC On" switch). But when I asked the tech rep about the coil voltages, he said he didn't know any of that information. Moreover, he could not forward me to anyone who did. To me, Technical should mean more than just "how to hook it up". The instructions tell you that. I am left to find out by testing it myself. So this isn't a show-stopper but it is a disappointment. This unit cost nearly twice the price of the former Hayden unit but "functionally" it offers very little more, if anything at all. Furthermore, without knowing "what is inside it", the genuine quality cannot be assessed accurately since it must be rendered to be just another "black box".After I have tested/used the unit i may edit/update this review. But for now I have mixed feelings as to its superior fitment.

Works perfectly and has easy to understand installation wording. The kit itself is good with heavy duty wiring. Gives you the option to run a manual switch and is also setup for air conditioned cars. Good product.

I installed this temperature controller and a Flex-a-lite 114 fan on my 94 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3 V6 that had a viscous fan that made lots of noise and took considerable power to run it. The kit contained everything I needed for the installation. The instructions were very good. The biggest challenge was finding the best places to mount the controller and to connect to ignition switched power and A/C-on signal. I mounted the controller on the side of the cold air intake duct near the radiator and found convenient places to connect the wires so they could be routed neatly. Every thing worked exactly as it was supposed to. I set the turn-on temperature of the fan at about 210 degrees so the fan rarely runs unless the truck is stopped at a traffic light for several minutes. So far it appears that the gas mileage of the truck has improved by 3-4 miles per gallon as a result of this installation. I'll give an update after a few more tanks of gas.

After a few months it works still. Running 2 14" fans. Blew 25a fuse, but 30 seems to work great.Update:worked for years. Was working the day I sold the vehicle.

This after market fan controller saved me close to 900 dollars. I have a 2010 Mustang V6 4.0L. The fan stopped working and the car overheated. The local garage thought it was the thermostat. Wrong. It was the Engine Control Unit that costs over 900 dollars at the dealer. I read the Ford Mustang forums and some of the people used this after market controller instead of buying a new ECU. It's been installed for about 4 months now and the car never overheats, even climbing the 16 mile incline north of Baker California on I-15 and if you drive from LA to Vegas in the summer you know this hill. It's brutal on cars. If any of my cars or trucks ever loose the fan controller I'll be buying another one of these.

This is the second temp control switch I have used. To clarify, I bought a vehicle with this unit already installed was claimed to be new. Two months later it stopped working and I almost fried a custom motor. I replaced with the same controller and it lasted all of about one hour of use! It was my fault to wait for install until able to return with amazon policy. Basically Two out of two failures I would call this product JUNK. Save your money and do a simple relay yourself for 2/3rd less money.

Product came pretty much incomplete. The fuse cable wasnt included when it should be in the box. Fortunatelly I had some other parts laying around in order to make it work. Quality is pretty low, I would buy something else next time for the price paid.
