I had a cheaper brand with what I considered an inferior mounting system for the mini-14. Then I tried to mount a Vortex red dot sight to it. Found out that the rail width was not even in spec, as the Vortex would not tighten down completely. So, I ordered this rail and it is so much better. Better mounting - more like what Ruger intended. The correct rail size, as the Vortex sight mounts securely. And a channel under the rail that you can see and use the original iron sights through. What's not to like ? Have not tried to remove the bolt with this rail installed, but it looks like there will be enough clearance to do so. Yes, the mounting screws are a little small, but use lock tite when you install them and you shouldn't have any problems. Very happy with this rail.

The Aim Sports scope rail for the Mini-14 is a gotta have if you're goiong for a picatinny rail mount. It is easy to install and leveled perfectly. Can't beat the quality for the price.

Great addition for mounting optics. Fit well, although I had to file a bit off of the included recoil tab that fits into the Mini-14 groove. But the result was a good, tight fit. Ejected cases clear the rail. Gives much more room that the stock Ruger rail included with the rifle. And - I can still use the iron sights fairly well.

Used to mount a red dot on my mini. It fit and I can still use the irons by looking under the rail. Minused one star because it simlpy pinches onto the Mini, and does not bolt directly into threaded holes in the host rifle. In fairness, Ruger did not provide any holes for a proper mount. It also looks like it will have to come off to remove the Mini's bolt.

Mounted perfectly fine to the platform. Has the quality where you can look through the base of the mount to use iron sights and the picatinney rails above mounted a scope. Thanks you!

This scope mount rail is solid and will hold your scope attachments properly. Below the rail, there is a hole for you to use your Mini 14/30 iron sightsThe downside to this product is that the scope mount rail's attachments screws will come loose. For example, I shot 100 rounds of 7.62 x39mm from my Ruger mini 30 and the screws loosened. This is bad. The workaround is to use a thread stopper substance on the scope mount rail' attachment screws.
