I ordered this to replace a failing original switch on my compressor. The only issue I had was that for my application I didn't plan to use 3 of the air output ports and the kit only came with 2 plugs. I could have easily placed a blow-off valve in the other location but I had an extra plug around so I just used that.Installation was straight-forward. I lined the threads for the air plugs and other air fittings with the included thread tape, then threaded in the plugs, threaded the new switch onto the compressor line that the old one had been removed from, and connected the copper "pressure tube" (I'm not sure what that part is actually called). Once the air lines were connected I did the electrical wiring. Wiring this switch was easy - I just had to remove the wiring from the old switch, thread it into the grommets on the new switch, and connect the lines to the new switch. After I plugged the compressor back into the wall outlet I turned on the switch and the compressor worked as it should. The switch is controlling pressures to the specified setpoints (kick in at 95 psi and out at 125 psi) without any adjustments needed. I did have a leak when the tank first got to pressure but I quickly realized that was because when I installed the plugs I had wrapped the thread tape around one of them the wrong direction and it bunched up. That was easily resolved by removing it and wrapping the tape around the correct way so it wouldn't bunch up and reinstalling it.

I have a 22 year old compressor and felt it was time to change the pressure controller as a maintenance activity. I installed this unit over two months ago and it has been cycled WAY more times than I can count. The compressor is used 6 days a week and used many times a day. With that said, this regulator was straight forward in its installation, settings and operation.Working Perfectly - Highly Recommended.

Needing to rebuild a compressor, saw this kit and ordered it. I also saw some of the reviews and I hope this will help some folks.First of all, this does not come with any instructions at all. So you need to know what you are ordering before you order it. And it would be good if you also have a little experience with compressors. The reason I say this is because other than what you already know or can find online, you are on your own.If you are repairing a compressor (like I am doing). First look at the switch before you order this. There are different versions of switches. After making sure the pressure range and switch contacts are appropriate for your compressor (voltage and current), you need to know if you need a switch with the "unload valve." Not all compressors have this, so if yours has one, you will need a replacement switch that also has one. The one I am reviewing does have an unload valve. The kit comes with a lot of things, but you will likely still need a few more. Of course, that all depends on your compressor, and what you can reuse from it.There are flow direction markings on the regulator/dryer. But there are no markings at all on the switch other than on/off. None of the ports on the back are marked, none of the wire terminals are marked. An OHM meter can help determine wiring. But unless you know that the small port is the unload valve, you will be guessing at what to do here. There are two internal pressure adjustment screws. One being the upper limit (cut off pressure). The other the lower limit (turn on pressure). Those are not the proper names, but basically how they function. Both have the same markings of "P" +/-. Again, some instructions would be helpful. Hopefully the lack of them will not cause anyone to get injured. 120/240 volts and high pressure air can be dangerous, so keep safety in mind as you work with this. They make sure to mention their process being clean. I agree that the threads of the fittings do look nice. So does the overall fit and finish. The plastic adjustment knob of the regulator/dryer has the cheap feel. But it is not something I adjust often. Hopefully, it will not be an issue. I do however like the autoempty function of the dryer. But the air pressure will need to reduce to 0 for that to function. If you are rebuilding a compressor, do remember that not only the motor, but the tank are going to be built for certain pressure limits. So replace the switch with one of the same PSI rating as your original.I like the kit, but am very disappointed that they did not include any instructions. Nor did they mark any of the connections on the switch. Neither pneumatic nor electric or even the pressure adjustment screws. The direction of flow is marked on the regulator/dryer with an arrow, but that is all I have found.I hope this helps someone who is considering this compressor kit. And note that there are different versions on this page.

All parts worked out well to overhaul an older but good quality air compressor. The pressure switch settings were spot on and no further adjustment was needed. Unloader valve on the pressure switch worked fine. Regulator worked ok and has all the proper holes so you can mount the pressure gauge in the orientation you need for your particular air compressor model. Overall, all the parts work and feel ok.

With some mods I was able to rebuild an old IR brand compressor. The lack of instructions didn't make the project any easier but I finally figured it all out.The regulator works fine. The gauge reads almost exactly as another that I have installed in the air line. All said, its an ok kit if you are rebuilding an old compressor.
