These have good substantial ferrules inside and quite thick thermoplastic which stands up to crimping without splitting or piercing. It needs around 160C to shrink and seems like it might have an adhesive layer too. They made good secure connections for me.

I was wary about these connectors because they're cheap and from Amazon, compared to name brand products. But I'm actually impressed with these!I crimped a 22-16 connector, with a ratcheting Klein crimp tool, and it stays on very well. I tried pulling as hard as I can, and it would not pull out at all. I used the heat shrink crimp die, and it did not break the heat shrink. In fact, heating it up completely made the crimp press mark disappear, so any small tears would have been filled in by surrounding heat shrink when it was more liquid from the heating process.The most impressive is that the resistance is the SAME as a non-cut wire of the same length!!! I measured .4 ohms for a wire with a butt connector in the middle, and a wire that hasn't been cut at all! Again, same length.

So far so good. Use appropriate wire, strip & insert on each side, crimp.. good to go. As described works well. Use crimping tool for insulated crimps
