The very first thing that pleased me about this motorized retractable awning was how quick I received it. The instructions had some parts that were not detailed perfectly but with common sense it was easily figured out. The bracket instructions placement is important to follow. Only downfall was that I had limited space to assemble but was easy enough to assemble so got through the process ok.I would recommend this item to anyone that is looking for a retractable awning.

- The manual is horrible. it needs to be thrown away and re-done from the first to the last page.- I'm a mechanical Engineer, and you NEED to be one to figure this out by yourself.- Some of the screws are too short, luckily I actually had the right (longer) size available.- The main screws to hold this awning up on the brackets (the ones which were too short) were of a super-cheap and super-soft 4.6 quality (An Engineer or Mechanic will know what that means). I replaced them with grade 8.8 screws.- The awning only comes with concrete anchors to mount it to a wall. I had to buy my own lag screws to mount it into a 4" thick wood beam.- Some of the bolt holes to put the tubes together were misaligned, it was impossible to put the screws in. I re-drilled these holes.- The set comes with zero tools. It assumes to have a full set of metric sockets in 3 or 4 different sizes, plus actually a metric Allen wrench.- One of the three tubes that wind up the fabric was seriously dented on one side and with a 20mm sized hole on the other side "as shipped", meaning the packaging was perfectly fine. This was not transportation damage, but bad quality check. I contacted Aleko by email and through Amazon, and up to today, a week later, the replacement part has NOT been shipped yet.- About every part came dented and bent (including the pictured winding tool that's supposed to be straight), I spent a couple hours to straighten everything out while I was going along with installation.Summary: Bad quality, bad engineering, bad workmanship, and a customer service department that is friendly and polite, but not helpful.

I installed 2 of the 13’ shades that are powered next to each other over my deck. I installed both by myself without help although I would suggest getting help because they are awkward to lift. I am a mechanic and at times install accessories on vehicles that have pictures, symbols and arrows outlining the steps with no text so these instructions are decent except for the power motor installation into the end of the awning. Basically you get no instructions for that part but it’s very self explanatory as far as that goes you just use the adapters that fit your awning. This is a universal motor for several applications. The end stop adjustment instructions was very good. I was not expecting a universal motor when I ordered these. I thought the motor would be already installed. You get what you pay for and for the price these are very good. You basically get three boxes for each awning. One is the frame assembly, one is the universal motor and one is the fabric. If you are installing these into wood you must buy your own bolts. They only supply concrete anchors. This awning will not withstand hardly any type of wind, maybe 10mph at most. They are like a sail when extended completely and do move a little when a breeze blows. The remotes are very cheap feeling and buttons are not marked for directions so you will have to label them or remember what direction to push. They have brackets to hold them on a wall and the remotes do work very well so far. You can stop the awning anywhere along its movement and leave them partially extended if needed. I will update in the future if I have anything else to add.

This product was half the price of two other brands and literally the same quality for more than $1000 less. Hard to install, poor instructions, but there is youtube video from customer that is great.

missing parts? yes. not much instructions? correct. our handyman was able to figure it all out.for the instructions, go to youtube. I suggest the maker of this to create detailed videos for the exact type of the awning purchased and just point to the video instead of giving wrong instructions.

Assembly instructions are as bad as everyone says but watching the numerous videos on YouTube made it fairly easy. The awning itself is great and met all of my expectations.

Anchor bolts broke when attaching them so had to buy new ones, one of the retractable arms broke when awning was being opened and the directions sucked!!!

I read a lot of reviews and did research on all of the types of motorized awnings, wondering what the extreme differences in materials (type of metal and fabric used), and cost. This was drastically cheaper than similar awnings, so I was a bit skeptical. I learned it had the type of metal and fabric that, from my research, were top rated. The reviews were a bit mixed, but mostly negative around the installation, not the product. Knowing that, I ordered it and hired a local contractor to install it. Without having any prior awning experience, it took my contractor two full days to assemble and install. This was still much more cost effective than purchasing the much higher priced awnings (which I would still need installed). The quality of the awning is great! It opens and closes smoothly and provides much needed shade on my full-sun back patio. Sun does not get through the fabric and therefore keeps the patio much, much cooler. I don’t keep in open in the rain, but have partially opened it when it was raining and I was grilling out. It didn’t leak or cause any sagging of the material (its important to have a downslope angle so the rain runs off). I have used my patio more in the few weeks that I’ve had this, than I have been able to the last 3 years I’ve lived here! It’s made a world of difference!

We are very happy with the quality and appearance of the awnings. They are less expensive than most so we weren't sure the quality would be good but it is great! The instructions on how to put it together weren't the greatest. The first one took a few hours to assemble and install but the second one went much faster. Overall we are very happy.

Nous voulions nous cacher du soleil et êtres à l'abris de petite pluie.Tendance à bouger beaucoup lorsque qu'il y a des petits vents.Pour l'assemblage de la toile les instructions ne spécifiait pas la grosseur du cordon à utiliser pour chacune des parties. Il a fallut faire des essais pour trouver et pour la partie avant de la toile rien ne dit qu'elle sensé poser celle ci. C'est après avoir visualisé le résultat que j'ai bien vue que ça ne fonctionnait pas. La partie avant était posé à l'envers et aurait empêché l'eau de descendre.

Great looking awning & straight forward to assemble however, the instructions are somewhat vague so go to You-tube & type in Aleko. There are numerous helpful videos to assist you with the assembly.Also, even though I purchased via Amazon, I received awesome product support help directly from Aleko.com, (they are listed on their product assembly sheet.Art Hine

Rona had us jump through hoops for the same awning. Pay for FedEx and duties. Git this from Amazon the next day, no hassles.
