As standard, Alesis Nitro Max features a large dual-zone 10” snare pad and three 8” tom pads. The kick drum has a large surface area that plays great with the included kick pedal. And for cymbals, there’s a 10” crash with choke, a 10” ride, and a 10” hi-hat with foot controller, all mounted on a durable 4-post aluminum rack.

To be clear I am brand new to drumming and got a surge kit for my birthday. I bought this mistakenly as an add on for my surge kit. The clamps do not fit the surge, but you can by some spares super cheap. Other than the fact that the drum head is black and doesn't match the white heads on the surge it works just fine. It is dual zoned so you can get impact from the mesh head and rim. For the price this is an excellent purchase.

As you can see from my photos, the extra tom is a bit fiddly to fit on the Nitro Max rack. Perhaps, I could rearrange things more, but I tried 3 different arrangements already. The tom fits but it’s not at the same angle as the other toms and it requires an awkward reach to hit it since its back by my right hip. The cymbal fits easily and doesn’t give me any problems. Really adds nice variety to the kit.

I like the drums as they are easy set up and fantastic to play. They sit next to my acoustic set. Both are very different but very similar in playing. I love this new edition as it is going with me to Florida for the winter.

You get what you pay for. The set is functional but frame is small and unsteady. Not for an advanced drummer; maybe appropriate for a beginner.

Los clamps no son compatibles con la Alesis surge, no es queja, es advertencia para quienes quieren expandir la Alesis surge (Pueden comprar los clamps por separado).Ojo, solo los clamps no son compatibles, sin embargo, los pads si funcionan con la Alesis surge y su calidad es excelente.

The Kit is easily movable, but on the downside, the kit takes a while to get used to due to the size (pretty small). Takes a few adjustments to suit needs.
