I bought 4 of these to hang in a tiny house we built for my mother-in-law. They are basically 100% blackout (see photo of double door without shades and window on the left with shade to see how much light it blocks) and block the cold radiating from outside, where it is currently just below freezing. They were easy to install. The brackets on the top can snap into the shade at any point, so you don't even have to measure to get the bracket to line up with anything. There are only 2 screws on each bracket, one in the top and one in the back. Each shade took about 8 minutes to install by myself with a cordless drill. However, since our windows only have wood on the TOP frame, then plastic/vinyl that I couldn't drill into on the window itself, I had to improvise a little. I put a 1x2" board cut to the width of the window up at the top and anchored it to the wood frame on the top using 3" wood screws. (I painted the boards white like the trim and frame so they aren't obvious. See photo of the 1x2" board as installed.) Then I screwed the hanging bracket into the top frame and the 1x2" board, and snapped the shade onto the brackets. This extra step took about 5 more minutes per window, but the shades hang and function perfectly. I considered returning them and purchasing another "top mount" shade instead, but they seemed like such good quality that I didn't want to risk exchanging them for a lower quality product. In the end, I'm very glad I did!Overall, 10/10 for the product. I just ordered some for our "big" house.

This is a review for the Blackout Cordless Window Shades Cellular Honeycomb Shades Room Darkening Pleated Blinds for Windows in blue. I had looked at them in the winter, to keep out the wind, but was worried that they looked like they were made of paper. When they went on sale, I bought two for my kitchen, where I'd had roman blinds before (which had cords and broke), and assumed I'd have to ask someone to help me install them, since I don't have a power drill. But the bracket holes lined up with one hole on each side that had already been drilled for the old shades, so I just put in the screws to hold in the brackets, then popped the shade into the bracket (it will make a snapping sound when it's in place).I just use the white bottom part to pull them down or push them up; I didn't bother putting on the little plastic pull handle. And I love them! They do keep the summer sun out on hot days, and most likely since the side facing the window is white, they aren't absorbing the heat. The fabric is extremely thin and feels like paper. The description says the shades aren't water-resistant, so I'm careful to be sure not to have the window open below the shade, so they won't get wet when it rains. They look great and keep out all of the sun, since I bought them large enough to hang outside the frame of the window. I don't know if they're durable, but hope so, since they look very nice. Strongly recommend.

These were a bought on a good Prime Day discount. Bought to replace very good cellular shades from HD that were one year old. Those were for privacy only (non-room darkening) and allowed too much light and summer solar heat to enter the bedroom. These came in perfect shape and installed easily. The action/functionality on these are not nearly as good as the HD ones. These were rebounding back up a few inches, so they forced be to extend the shade about 6" longer than I wanted, before they settled at the windowsill. Same for the manual raise - unlike my one hand retraction needed for the HD blinds, these are fussy, requiring a more deliberate two-handed and slower push back up.For the $, especially on discount, these are a solid bet, but if you want/need better, stick with HD or more premium shades.

Exactly as shown. I have these Allesin shades, (two 46 inch wide, beige-white blackout shades side by side) in a large window and they are just as pictured and so easy to use. Just a light touch on the clear plastic handle in the center of the bottom of each shade moves the shade up or down. My husband installed these the day they arrived before I got home and he says they are super easy to install. I was reluctantly to part with my old metal venetian blinds I had in this spot until I found my doggie caught and choking on the cord! I ordered these blinds that day and I am really happy with them after using them over a week. They block the light better than my old venetians. I am amazed at the reasonable price on these too . And NO CORD to worry about. They are exactly as shown. It seems getting new blinds isn’t such a complicated or expensive thing anymore. Nice.

If I wanted light filtering I'm sure the product would have been fine, but I ordered black out so it did not work how I ordered it

I installed 5 of these blinds in my house a few weeks ago. They look alright for the most part, though one of the wider blinds has a slightly bowed bottom. They block light as well as I'd expect. My biggest complaint is that they don't retract well when I lift them. I have some older, high-end cellular shades and they still retract well when I lift them. These are weeks old and, instead of retracting right away, take a few tries to get the string to retract into the top. I can't recommend them for this reason, though if you're not going to be lifting them often, they're probably fine.
