We purchased this tube after considering all options for a 3 feet x 6 feet long banner with grommets. There were negative experiences online with many of the less expensive adjustable tubes. The Alvin 37 inch tub perfectly accommodates our banner as long as the banner is tightly wound and rubber banded. Tube has a 2 ¾ inside diameter, and is 37 inches long. It is UV resistant, moisture proof and dust proof.Another concern we had was with screw on and off caps. Though this tub does not have a screw on and off cap, it is one that pushes on and off. Also, only one end can be opened, which I think is more beneficial than having two sides that can open. At no time did the cap come off on its own, even when we held it upside down. This tub withstood a 10 days of international travel both from the west coast to the east coast of the United States, then from JFK Airport to the Baltic Sea region and back. The tube easily fit in an airline overhead bin. I was also able to take it on airport shuttles and other modes of transportation very easily. We attached a luggage tag to the top portion of the plastic clamp at the top of the tube. The only intermittent problem we had was that the clasp at the top of the tube would inadvertently come off its hinge. However, this only happened three times. The tube was even pinched under heavy luggage but withstood the pressure and now has a crease mark on it but no dent. The bright color helps for keeping track of this item, especially when you are carrying other things. I was able to put the tube strap on my shoulder along with a backpack.I believe this tube was an excellent value and I would purchase it again. The Prime Free Shipping and cost of item made this the perfect carrier for our specific needs.

I LOVE this thing! I have been looking for a clear yet durable tube to put my long cat wands in for years. I was a little worried due to few images or reviews, however, this is perfect! It is more than long enough for 36" Da Bird cat wand, the lid seals well, and it is tough! Much sturdier than I had thought which is a plus! Easy to see through and vibrant! This would be great for many uses, and the strap has good construction and is adjustable. This would be great for posters and such too, I don't see it getting 'smooshed' very easily. 5 Stars!

1. This plastic it becomes opaque if bent and unfortunately my tube came with a dent. I would replace it, but I had no time to replace it before the trip.2. The carrying strip and plastic connectors are really cheaply made. And the side that opens does not screw open as I expected but just pops and is hold in place only by material tension.Other than those 2 points, it is pretty sturdy tube.

The poster tube itself is well made and sturdy. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is I found the shoulder strap to be too short.

I actually have gone to like 5 100,000+ people events with this thing strapped to my back getting jostled and all that. I have yet to have any issues with it. It can hold a lot if you're willing to roll it all together. My only regret is getting the biggest version as it gets jostled more and I only needed the space a single time. I also made a cover for it out of felt so it looks like a quiver full of arrows to fit a cosplay and I always get huge compliments when people realize it while I pull it out to stuff more awesome artwork in there. When I'm not actively getting artwork It's actually full of my entire poster collection at home. I've had it around 10 years now and sell my own artwork at conventions so it gets used a lot... to protect art I get from other artists. It's still going. And yeah, I'll encourage you to check on both ends before leaving and to only take off the one marked lid. Because it gets awkward when your stuff falls through the tube. Strap is adjustable. Will fit me and my much larger friend. The larger one is harder to store, because who has good storage for a 3 foot+ long tube? Like no one. So yeah, I'll encourage you to get one. But also the shorter one unless you're going to be buying massive posters up the ying-yang.It's also kind of pricey but feels like you could run over it with a car. (Not that I have or have tested that.) But I have accidentally stepped on it plenty, and it gets knocked around both at events with limited personal space and with the aforementioned inadequate storage for it. So it's good protection for your stuff. For rolling up, don't do too tight and try to avoid creasing or crunching the artwork. And after unrolling it. Rolling the against the direction you rolled it to help straighten out your artwork. Find some place to lay it flat to relax it to avoid permanent creasing/warping. Framing will help with that.

It looked great and professional; but, I used it to carry a book banner to a conference, the shoulder strap broke and when it did both the base and top caps popped off and the banner slid out of the tube.

I took this tube with 2 posters in it to a conference on the West coast. It was easy to store in the overhead bin on the flight and I had no problems with it. The end that opens doesn't screw on but there was no issue about it sliding off. It worked well for my needs and the price.
