My eight-year-old daughter has been asking for a portable radio. She has reached the time when she is unwilling to put up with Daddy's old music and Mommy's talk radio. She is ready to explore on her own and wants her own things. I thought this was a completely reasonable request, so I bought her this radio based on decent reviews and the large digital clock readout on the face.Because of her age, I gave it to my little girl and told her it was up to her to read and use the instructions. At 8, she is working on reading comprehension skills and, also, developing patience with complex tasks. By the end of the day, she had the radio charged, programmed, the clock set and was listening to her favorite radio station. I asked if she had set an alarm - she decided she didn't need one for anything, but she did look at the feature.Based on our experience so far, I think this is a pretty nice product. It seems fairly tough. It is easy to use. It has a nice range of features without trying to pack in too much. The buttons are a little small for me, but for smaller hands they are fine. The earbuds work well - I did offer to upgrade them but she has declined.This radio has become my daughter's new travel companion. It is holding up well under everything she can throw at it. The whole family is quite pleased with the experience.

This small radio is easy to carry, pocket sized and light. I bought this digital tuner to replace a small radio that had a manual dial tuner, I like this one much better. I live near a large city so it receives plenty of radio stations. If you live in a more rural area your results may vary.The radio has 20 presets to store and recall your favorite stations although it was a bit tricky to set them. I like the "lock" feature to lock the buttons against accidental pressing. The numbers on the display are large and very easy to read. It's essentially an alarm clock with a radio and you can turn the radio on/off with the power button, of course the clock stays on but the display dims completely after a few seconds. Pressing any button will display the time again.The rechargeable battery is nice with good duration between charges. The battery indicator is easy to see on the screen. The built in speaker is fine for listening to news or talk radio, but for music it's better if you plug in a pair of earbuds or headphones. It's still useable either way if you need to.

I am not satisfied with the performance. AM band is poor. It is light and compact. Not expensive so I dont worry my clients will break it. The stations that do come in, are clear with fair sound.

I bought this at the start of summer to replace my older, smaller pocket radio. To be honest, I probably would've returned it if the window hadn't already closed, but overall, it gets the job done. The battery life is great, and I like that it has an external speaker so you can still listen without headphones. Pretty often, though, the reception is spotty and I've noticed certain stations won't play (I've tested simultaneously inside my car, so I know it wasn't the station itself). I personally like to use these to run, but the bulkier size of this one doesn't make it ideal for that (but that's just a personal preference). This is probably better for sitting out somewhere like on the beach or hiking.

Radio has great volume great channel digital control versatility as a alarm clock and does not need batteries charges from a USB 900,000,000 A great product for someone who just needs the travel on the go or just around the house or in the backyard. Great Little Radio for the Money.

This radio is for a newly blind 50 yr old. It's been a life saver. He can work it easily. He has dropped it repeatedly and it still works perfectly. It's small enough to fit in his pocket. He uses it anytime he leaves the house, it calms him down. I even bought a backup.

I have several small pocket radios, some costing significantly more than this one.For a regular around the house/garage use or something you can take camping, this is a great value!The corresponding perfect carrying case for this radio can be found below, fits like a glove, and can store all the cords/accessories the radio comes with: (the slightly larger 2.4" black version)The reception on this radio is not amazing, but also not that bad either. I'm able to pick up most stations in my area. There was one AM station I was having trouble with, but it does come in clearer in the evening. The antenna could have been longer to resolve this issue. When you plug in the earphones, the earphone wires DO NOT become the antenna, like on many other portable radios.The speaker, for its size, is amazingly good. Voice clarity is surprisingly clear.Reading through the manual, it is well written and well worth the 5 minute read, to familiarize yourself with all the functionality this radio offers. The lockout function is great.Note, there is a warning in the manual not to use more than a 2A phone charger to charge this radio, but for most people this should be a non-issue.

This little radio works very well. Very easy to.operate and listen to.After about 3 weeks it suddenly stopped. It was beyond the Amazon return date so we contacted the company and dealt with Niki who told us what to try and it was quickly fixed. She was prompt, efficient and very courteous. We are MOST satisfied with Niki and the service team.

Escuchar la radio con audÃfonos mientras se está caminando o andando en bicicleta tiene asociado el riesgo de no escuchar advertencias sonoras de peligro. Este radio tiene una bocina que en general suena bien para programa hablados, aunque para escuchar música no es lo mejor (los audÃfonos sà funcionan bien en este caso, aunque no se puede considerar de alta fidelidad). La ventaja sobre un teléfono celular utilizado como radio es que para el teléfono se deben conectar los audÃfonos que actúan de antena y se necesitan para el FM (no he encontrado una aplicación para AM) y aunque la bocina externa del teléfono celular suena mejor para música que la de este radio, gastan baterÃa. También se puede escuchar la radio (AM y FM) vÃa internet en el teléfono celular, pero eso consume datos. Esta radio portátil tiene la ventaja de que no utliza datos, si se agota la baterÃa, obvio, no está comprometida la baterÃa del teléfono celular (yo lo he utilizado tres horas sin problema a volumen medio, la carga dura menos si se sube mucho el volumen pero no sé cuánto dura). Se escucha razonablemente bien en exteriores. En interiores requiere que se le oriente hasta recibir la mejor señal (especialmente en AM). En exteriores no hay ese problema a menos que la estación que se quiera escucha esté muy lejos o tenga señal débil. Se puede llevar en la bolsa de la camisa. Otro punto a favor es que la baterÃa es recargable y si dura para un paseo.
