My neighbor wanted a simple, basic AM/FM radio to listen to the news, classical music and the occasional ball game (when they're not televised, or when his wife is controlling the tv. hehe). His instructions were 'no frills, decent sound and low cost'. This portable radio delivers on all his requirements. It has the old school dial with band indicator window. And, the volume is controlled via another dial.The radio offers a surprisingly good sound, with more than adequate volume control. Of course you can't expect audiophile quality, and the sound is kinda tinny. But, for the size and cost, it's exactly what he wanted.The AM/FM portable radio works exactly as expected. Being in NYC, the reception is very good for the stations he wants. Overall, a positive experience.

This is a transistor radio that uses AA batteries. It plays as long as the batteries have "juice", then the volume falls and its time for a new set. I have a radio that is rechargeable and it just goes- OFF - when the charge ends. I like this better. The Goodes has an easy channel roller, and the stations come in strong..of course, I'm in a major metro area. Your reception may vary. The sound? Well, if you are looking for hi-fi, or mid-fi, this ain't it. It sounds like a plastic AM transistor radio: Acceptable. It doesn't make the voices sibilant, and the FM- well, you know the song let your brain fill it in the fidelity. Look, it's good for what it is and it is inexpensive. It works well in the garage and at the beach. So I give it 4 (four) stars. You won't think you overspent. Enjoy.

These little radios work perfectly. Batteries last a long time in them, and it's surprising how well they pick up signal. They sound nice for such a small speaker, work perfectly for my needs.

Nice and easy to use. The one odd thing is the off on is the same area as AM FM instead of on the volume control. Not a big thing for most but boughti t for someone with Dimentia so confusing for them. As some reviewers mention, picking up stations can be challenging. Overall for the quality and price it's fine.

Estou com ele desde o inÃcio de dezembro, mas na semana passada, 22/01/2025, ele parou de sintonizar... não caiu, está no mesmo ponto que sempre esteve... não sintoniza estações tanto AM como FM... infelizmente... eu estava amando, mas foi vida curta! O problema é que ele é caro para o que ofereceu, vida curta...

The radio sound fine on the first day. Easy to tune and sounds clear. It broke down on the second day. No matter how I try to tune it, it just wouldn't work. Don't waste your money.
