Could not find this at big-box store where you have to hunt and hunt to get anything and forget finding anyone to help you. Looked on Amazon and there was the one that was made for our water closet. Works perfectly, easy to install and 90% less costly than hiring a plumber who may or may not show up.

I’ve had the original of this part for about 7-10 years. Over time, because the white plastic ring seems laminated, it develops bubbles which allow water to slowly drain, causing the tank to fill on its own. I saw a video on this and all you need to do is just take a pin and pop the bubbles. That’s how I’ve gotten so much use out of the original one. I just decided to buy the new one to see if it’s any different.

we finally put this on and its past return window. We keep one on hand in case of needing. We put this on today and IT DOES NOT WORK OR SEAL. Do not buy!! Very disappointed and learned lesson not to buy things before you use them. I thought I would be prepared in the case of needing and now today I needed as other one started to leak. THIS ONE IS TERRIBLE UGH

The original flapper had a small bump in the ring which would leak depending how it settled so not after every flush. This flapper was easy to install took 2 minutes no tools required.

I first bought a generic flapper valve from the hardware store. Fresh out of the packaging, it leaked worse than the worn American Standard Flapper in my toilet. I ordered the original from Amazon, very easy to change out and works perfectly. Well worth the cost, especially if your water is metered.

This flapper is well made with the chain in segments and at an angle it would prevent so many problems that flappers have. I was so disappointed when we discovered that the bulb at the bottom was too large for the hole in the toilet. But it is worth the money but you should measure the hole that it drops into. This sounds very. It's 2 inches across and not quite 7 inches circumference I hope this helps...

A little pricey for a rubber flap but worth it. Replaced the existing (leaking) Model 504 flapper in my American Standard toilet and no more leaking.
