It does not work well for removing weeds which are used in the decorative-rock/gravel-over-plastic used for yards on many homes here in California, especially in the mobile home parks. I have to work at it, wiggling the cutting end through the rocks to get at the tap root, then twist the handle around to break them off, but they do work. But where used for removing weeds from regular soil, they work fine. For me with a bad back, which makes it very difficult to bend, this does do the trick though. I gave this 5 stars because it does work as intended and I doubt there is a weed puller made which works well in decorative rock-gravel over plastic.

The handle is not made from a protective quality of wood. Even with some kind of visible coating the wood swelled. The length is great for those who cannot bend and the metal is not rusting. I have owned one for a few months. 4 stars for the tool, but needs a better handle.

I've had this took for a couple of weeks now, have had no issues. When I have used it, it brings the weeds right up. We have had a lot of rain lately and this tool has been outside in the elements. I have not seen any rust form. Really like it so far.

Very poor quality. Have an original, made in USA. Used for decades.No comparison. Cheap Chinese junk.Returned for refund.Ferule loose - Held on only by poor finish on handle.No glue, crimp or hardware to keep it secure.

I've looked for these long-handled "classic" diggers for a long time... and finally found them on Amazon! I ordered two, one for the garage/front yard, and one for the shed/back yard.When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality... VERY heavy duty! I still had to sharpen the blade some though... but no biggie.Well worth the money!

it's a great tool if you have decent soil (not rock hard) and can catch the weeds when they're small. We bought on request from my 97YO mother. She likes to walk around and help out. Turns out my wife likes it too!
