The kao wool seems to work well. I've done a short test fire for my small forge. I'm going to test it more soon.

Mice had infested my oven ruining it by making a horrid odor every time you turned it on. I took it apart and inspected it noting they had destroyed the insulation. I did my research and decided on this because I was certain I would have to replace every inch of insulation. The old stuff I’m not sure what it was made of but it was fluffy and very soft it was very inviting to rodents. The condition of the stove disgusted me. After tearing out the old stuff and installing this I noticed how thick this was, very dense. Still malleable though so it was easy to squeeze the new insulation in the oven. After reassembly I turned it on to Max heat, the smell was mostly gone but I figured that’s going to take awhile to disappear all together. It took no time at all to reach maximum temperature and stay there. This was a fantastic price for the amount you get and with the extra I have if it continues or happens again I can just as easily replace it again with the spare. Wonderful product that saved my stove from creating an unholy odor. I can’t wait to make lasagna again.

I only have cone 5 and 6 cones and can safely say the diy kiln reaches cone 6

We had a bad mouse infestation in our cookstove I know ewwwh. We had to take out all the insulation and clean clean clean. This worked perfectly as replacement.
