I like having the right part for the right job. These work great in my boat and are probably the best out there. The cheap stuff will work but at some point, they corrode and it is usually at the worst time. These work well in a marine environment and are very durable. I would advise using Ancor's adhesive lined heat shrink tubing with these if you are in a marine environment. It costs more but you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever if you do.

Good quality for diy solar battery bank. Crimping may be an issue as the die set of the crimper needs to be from 30 to 33 mm2 for 2 awg welding wire. To get 30 mm2, I set one die to 25, and the matching die to 35, that yields 30 mm2. I was able to double crimp the lugs which resulted in really good solid crimps and cold welding. There will be a bit of pinched metal on one side of the lug, just cover it with the heat shrink material, it didn't cut through the finished heat shrink.Alternative long barreled heavy duty battery lugs cost about $7 per unit which I felt were not needed for my application.

I've tried other brands that failed during normal usage Ancor has passed the test of time. Well worth the money

Perfect fit for 4/0 lugs. There are a lot of 120mm /10mm lugs being sold as 4/0 3/8. The metric lugs simply don't fit the cable and would require significant deformation to attempt a secure fit.Using both J1127 welding cable and SGX marine cable, these fit tight. You do need a clean cut to get all strands inserted but the tapered barrel helps.Lugs are heavy bit not rediculously heavy where they are hard to crimp. I used a hammer crimper with good results, about 10 moderate force whacks with a 16 oz hammer.Look for 1†glue lined heat shrink to seal the lugs to cable, TEMco brand seems to work well.
