This Anderson Metals half union compression tube fitting is made of brass, has a flared tube connection and a male NPT connection, and is suitable for use with fuel and gas systems. It is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. This fitting can be used with copper, brass, aluminum, or steel tubing to connect and disconnect two tubes more easily than with a coupling. It has a flared tube connection on one end and a male National Pipe Taper (NPT) connection on the other for connecting to a female NPT threaded tube, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. This fitting is part of an assembly that resists mechanical pullout for a more secure connection, and can be assembled and reassembled without affecting the seal. This half union compression tube fitting has an operating temperature range of -65 to +250 degrees F and is suitable for use with fuel and gas systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and vacuum applications.

Tube fittings are components used for connecting, branching, terminating, and changing the direction of tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), and other materials that resist corrosion and wear. Tube fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, welded, barbed, and push-to-connect (also called one-touch). Push-to-connect connections do not require tools or sealants. Tube fittings are used in various applications, including machine tools, airplane and truck controls, and automated production lines, among others.

Anderson Metals manufactures brass fittings, valves, and pipe nipples. The company, founded in 1951, is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.

Item is solid. Threaded just right and had no problem installing. Was concerned that it was going to be cheaply made but had no issues with wrenches when installing. Very solid piece.

I have a Sodastream and refill my CO2 canisters due to the massive cost savings. I use this fitting to hook up a vacuum pump to the CO2 filling hose. The fitting is well made and works as intended. Would buy again from seller.

I used this fitting to modify my factory Camp Chef "Mountain Series" propane-supply connector. The original Camp Chef connector incorporates a 17-psig regulator that connects only to disposable 1-lb propane canisters. In addition, it requires extra space to the right side of the stove for the canister and angled tube - it's a rather clunky arrangement in my opinion. Consequently, I cut off the (proprietary) Camp Chef connector from the tube, and built an adapter using a Swagelok 5/16"-tube to 1/4" FPT fitting along with the 1/4"-MPT to 3/8" male flare fitting sold here. This allowed me to connect directly to a standard bulk-propane hose (using an adjustable 0-30 psig regulator). This new arrangement is an unmitigated success.BTW, I saw on here some complaints from a couple other users that the flare threads for this adapter are somehow cut improperly. This was NOT at all my experience - the part mates perfectly with the 3/8 female flare on my tank hose.

Picked this up to use with my new Camp Chef stove. I changed the hose to a longer length with a quick connect. Had to use This Anderson Fitting to connect the original Camp Chef hose and regulator to a new matching Quick Connect. To Convert the Original camp Chef hoes and regular so it can connect to the 12' hose so it can still run off a freestanding standard propane BBQ tank when not next to camper. But you do need :Anderson Metals Brass Tube Fitting, Half-Union, 3/8" Flare x 1/4" Male Pipe" to connect the camp chef hose to the Dozyant quick Connect.. Works Great..
