This is a wonderful pad. The thickness is just right, providing a plush feel underfoot. It stays in place on the floor and with my kitchen table on top the rug doesn't slide either.It fits well, being about 2 inches smaller all the way around. That allows the rug edge to lay smoothly on the floor. There's no weird smell or off gassing.While this pad is more expensive than the flimsy latex pads it's definitely worth the extra money. It makes your rug feel better and it will extend the life of your rug.

my 6 foot round rug was flipping up around the edges. i had hoped to use double stick carpet tape with this rug pad to hold the edges down. had to cut it up to finally make it work.the pad was lovely otherwise.

I purchased this to put under a 8X8 round area rug. It is at least 2-3 inches smaller.

Materials seem about average. The main letdown with this product is that it is not 1/4 inch thick and therefore does not provide much padding. It is a hair over 1/8 inch thick. I did not notice any smell from the product. The diameter is also about 7‘8“, not 8 feet.
