Great ant farm. Although the ants are able to chew through the compound that seals the farm. Just monitor that.

Purchased for my grandson. Only problem is the sponge for the water capsule died after a short time and I tried to replace it with another piece of sponge but that collapsed. So the lack of replacement support is not good. The ants eventually fill up most of the areas with sand and then what? They run out of the liquid food that comes with it and then what? The design is very cute and it is a lot of fun to watch the ants but even finding replacement sand is impossible

This was a gift for my 5-year-old son who loves ants! It was a little difficult to get all the sand equally distributed through the fill holes, but it only took about 5-10 minutes to have it fully ready to go. Once set up and the ants, which are not included, were added this became a focal point in my son's room that he loves to watch and check on daily! It isn't huge so it's great for small shelves or tables, but still have plenty enough room for the 20 or so ants currently occupying it. Definitely a recommended gift!

Very small ant farm. Smaller than expected. I should have paid attention to the dimensions. I had to go back to order after I placed it and scroll all the way down to find that the farm doesn’t include live ants. It should literally be in the title. “Ant farm LIVE ANTS NOT INCLUDED†if it did I would have never ordered it

Read reviews - to be on the safe side put aluminum tape around farm perimeter. Ordered ants and so far all is great. Big hit with kids and their friends.Definitely recommend. Just don’t forget to do the tape just in case they start borrowing

The reviews are correct. It is a very nice looking ant farm but, after a few weeks of ant habitation, the little critters begin to chew through the structure… Our ants made it very close to escaping near the top hatch (they were eating away the top wall near the plastic lid/opening).
