This was my first time using a trap. I've been dealing with excessive raccoons in my yard, so I decided to take matters into my own hands after getting the county to come out and do something about it. One the first try, I caught a raccoon, which I later released into the woods 20 miles from my home. I also caught four additional raccoons and released them as well. The gloves are great at keeping their creepy little hands from doing any damage, and the grids are too close together for the raccoon to bite through the cage. I learned that raccoons bark when they are threatened during this experience, lol. BTW the cage is still in great shape should I need to use it again.

Flimsy and very difficult to set. So flimsy that it doesn’t sit square and leans to one side. The latch that holds the door open struggles to stay in contact with the trigger wire. This makes it very sensitive and is easily triggered. I will probably throw it away as there are so many mis-triggers. I even tried to fix it with a pair of needle nose pliers, but that made it worse. A friend let me borrow an Advantek. It’s sturdy and the trigger is very consistent. I plan to buy one.

This trap works like a champ and was a snap to assemble (The directions left a little to be desired). It appears to be constructed to last and sturdy enough for smaller varmints (opossums raccoons etc)
