Installed this unit to replace an original one. A few months later and under 1000 miles I was towing my rv through the mountains when I heard a loud band and the my coolant temps shot up to over 250degress. I immediately pulled off the highway to find a leaking radiator. Luckily I had a friend right behind me. we found a new radiator about an hour away so we went and bought it. When we starting taking the old radiator out my friend noticed a piece of tubing and a wire just sitting on the air shield under the radiator. Upon further review I noticed all the wires were missing from the fan clutch. My best theory is that somehow the wire harness got sucked into the fan blade and was ripped out hitting the radiator along the way puncturing a hole in it. I changed the radiator and continued on with my camping trip with a brand new doubled priced radiator and an electric fan clutch with no wires connected to it. My truck ran fine201 degrees, except pulling long steep hills it would get to about 235 degrees and that was with me gearing down and dropping my speed to 30ish. I made it home and the bought a different brand that seem to be working better so far. I'm not just at a loss for the 150 I paid for this one but about 650 for a new radiator plus coolant

Looks like I held onto the clutch a little too long. The fan clutch was bought in 2023 installed in March 2024 with a new radiator. Just had a new head installed in my truck after finding out I had a head gasket leak. With The AC running the fan should be running full speed right now. But it’s not I could actually grab it with my hand. It’s got a little wobble to it so looks like the clutch is bad. Since I bought it in 2023 too late to return. Apparently, I have a bad fan clutch.

Highly disappointed!! Will not do business with again. Just installed the new fan hub recently and it’s already gone bad!! Garbage product obviously!!

Find one with wires that are secure and not a cheesy rubber hose. Fan will catch the wires and rip them out.. will then leave you overheating
