My 20 year old nephew is new to the states, and he does not know a lot of English. Due to family medical complications, he is staying with me for a few months. I don't know a lot of Spanish. I was going to get him this book for Christmas,but held off because I was not sure if it would be appreciated. But recently he has been expressing that he feels left out, and even embarrassed about his English. And so, I pulled the trigger and it arrived yesterday.I gave him the book as soon as it arrived. And let me tell you - it WORKS. He has been buried in the book ever since. It's amazing. He is smiling and laughing and talking out loud. But the best part is that he is making sounds he was never able to pronounce before. Like the 'th' sound. He's nailing it. Only problem is that I can not get anything done anymore. He is constantly asking me "Am I saying this right"?I usually wait some time, before writing a review - but this was a no-brainer. He Loves IT. More importantly, IT WORKS

Tiene varios errores en como se dice la pronunciación de x palabra. No va a salir hablando inglés solo con el libro. Pero definitivamente es un libro que ayuda bastante.

I'm a teacher, and I was recently given an ESL class to cover, after the teacher left. I speak some Spanish but I do not consider myself fluent in the language. This book is great! It has detailed lessons on what we used to call "Phonics", pronunciation, vocabulary, conversational phrases, verbs, nouns and lots of other valuable content and explains everything in Spanish, while showing the English content so the adult student that only speaks Spanish can immediately understand all examples and content! My job is basically to read with the class and teach them how to pronounce the English words correctly! Bonus: The Spanish parts of each lesson are bringing my Spanish language skills back up to speed at the same time so now my Spanish skills are getting better! I definitely recommend this book!
