This keeps the Water Panel clean and reduces maintenance to a minimal amount. For use with models 400, 500, 550, 550A, 558, 560, 560A, 568 and 600.

The old one somehow opened up in size over 2 and a half years. So it flowed way too much water and it was overflowing the humidifier tray causing water to pool up on the floor. Not good. These are cheap but my only complaint is it would be nice if they could ship a 3 or 4 pack for like a few bucks more. I will now be replacing this every two years just for precautionary maintenance because I do not want that to happen again.

Fits model 700. Used to have the blue orifice (4232) but switch to the yellow (4231) The water flow on the blue orifice was too high (6 gph) so I switched to the yellow orifice (3 gph). They were interchangeable. Delivers plenty of water for the #35 water panel, just not such a rapid flow down the drain.

Size was not listed here are the dimensions:◠¼" flange diameter?◠⅛" body diameter,◠1/64" restrictive hole diameter,◠¼" length. My old one simply wore out after 25 years as seen in the picture. The old one was just pouring water out the drain and dripping out of the housing. The new yellow one matches my manufacturers sizes. I'm hoping the new one does the job for me - time will tell.

The original one was a larger diameter orifice than this one. When I replaced the valve I decided to replace this also on a whim. This has a smaller diameter orifice and I think it is better suited for my furnace. The old one would make the windows sweat on really cold days and the humidistat is useless. It seemed to be on or off without sensing the humidity level (I have since replace it). But the humidity lever is perfect without the windows sweating and also uses less water. I highly recommend this item.

We're on fairly decent city water, but I've had to replace this plastic orifice every year. The center part of the plastic blows out completely and then the humidifier gets about 20 times more water than it should... which floods the bottom of the HVAC unit and then floods the basement. This is clearly the weakest part of the humidification system. I'd bet they cost less than 20 cents to make and yet here we are paying $8.And look how many reviews there are and how many sellers offer them. Plenty! Seems like a lot of people of are having to replace them. They seem to be designed to fail for the sake of profit. These these are a waste of money.Worse, AprilAire wouldn't even tell me the orifice size so that I could replace it with a brass orifice attached to the solenoid valve. So I measured it at .5mm (or .02") which can be easily found online in brass dampers. They cost twice as much but should last a lifetime compared to this plastic piece of rubbish. I'm so sick of corporate carelessness.

The one I had installed became clogged with a piece to sand or something. I didn't have anything but a piece of wire to get it unclogged. The wire enlarged the aperture, so I needed a new one. This one worked perfectly.
