I bought this book as a requirement for a class and I have to say, it is really helpful. It has a lot of short stories, poems etc., but it also has great biographies of the authors and a background on their themes and stories which is really important and helps explain the stories. It has footnotes for a lot of difficult words or slang which I think is so important and beneficial and questions at the end each reading which also aids in comprehension. Overall, this book has a lot of information, which is invaluable in understand the otherwise often difficult and dry material.

Really good price for a new copy of this textbook. I'll probably be able to sell it for close to the price I purchased it at, so that's nice.

This book has a great diversity of material and information! I used it in my Intro to Spanish Literary Analysis class and enjoyed many of the readings. There's a lot of terminology for grammatical and literary structures, which I found less interesting than the readings themselves.

All the pages are present and it isn't waterlogged or anything, but I wish the book had been in better condition. There is a lot of writing and highlighting in it, and there are some folded / crinkled pages as well as the cover. It just looks worn. But it serves its purpose so I do not have too much to complain about.

When I received the book, it looked like it had been heavily used by multiple people. There is stuff written all over the book, and there was a worksheet inside of it with someone else's name on it. This is a required textbook that I read daily, and the current condition is not suggesting that I will be able to use it for a full semester.

Currently reading this at my Literature Spanish class at UH. Discussion and analysis are highly recommended.
