I thought this mat would be handy for traveling with my five year olds. After using the pad I have mixed reviews, but mostly good.The positives: the mat is very clever in letting your child “paint†with water. When the mat is wetted down with one of the special water pens included, the top of the mat reveals the rainbow color on the surface below. It’s easy to write, draw and paint on the surface. The mat comes with 4 water pens, 7 templates for letters and shapes and foam shapes to use for tracing. The whole thing can be packed into a small backpack bag for easy travel and storage. The mat does not stay wet for too long, so it’s ready to reuse when it’s dry. It’s not messy at all, unless you spill water when refilling the water pens.Negatives: the pens are a little difficult to use and refill. You have to unscrew the cap and either pour water inside or suck up the water inside by squeezing the pen. You can spill water when trying to put water inside the pen. Squeezing the pen only fills it halfway no matter how hard you squeeze. Also some of the tips can fall out of the cap easily, and without that it doesn’t work. As I mentioned it comes in a small backpack. The negative is that the bag doesn’t close up all the way so the pens can fall out. After the entire mat is wet you have to wait for it to dry to use it again so you’ll need to have a “back up†toy to give your child.Overall I think this is a really great toy. I like that it travels well and is not messy. I recommend this item.

We took this along for our overseas travel. Our kid loved it and kept her engaged. I specifically lked the fact that our kid could use it without being very messy and making everything wet.The other nice thing is that the mat can be reused fairly shortly after the prior use after it gets dry. The size of the mat is just perfect and it comes with a storage bag.

Water mats are amazing and this one does not disappoint. It kept my kiddos active for long periods of time and absolutely no mess. My 1 year old and 5 year old love it and play with it together. It comes with stencils and different markers that you just fill with water and let them color on the mat, it then dries and disappears for more fun later. It comes with a cute carrying case which others we have gotten haven't had so its a great touch.

The package was pretty compact or smaller than what I was expecting and was concerned for a minute, but once it was opened and laid out my worries were quickly laid to rest. The mat is a good size for my toddler and to share with one other. It comes with everything as listed: the mat, 4 water pens, 12 foam shapes, 6 foam stencils, and a drawing instruction booklet. This mat kept my son entertained for at least an hour or two. This toy is a no-brainer. It is non-toxic, water-resistant, and nearly mess free. I rather have my son draw on this mat than on my wall. The only downside (in my case only) to this mat is the disappearing art. My son was getting frustrated thinking his siblings were erasing his artwork.

my toddler loves to draw but ends up coloring on things shes not supposed to. This was a great alternative because she thinks she's actually coloring without the mess! Very easy for her to use

Such a different and fun water activity. It comes with a different little crayons that you can fill with water. The reason for the four stars is not sure why mines didn’t come with the extra little stencils. I did receive the cute plastic backpack and the different watercolor crayons, but nothing else. Your babies can also just stick their hands in water and kind of finger plant along this cute canvas. It creates no mess except for some water. So we have been using an outside in the grass, which is super cool, when the colors come out, they’re super vibrant and rainbow colors. Just a fun toy.
