Many types of aeration tubing will float to the surface of ponds, exposing the unsightly tubing. Installing Aquascape Weighted Aeration Tubing will keep pond airline tubing out of sight at the bottom of the pond without the use of weights, improving water feature appearance and significantly reducing installation time. Constructed of thick-walled, puncture-resistant extruded PVC, the tubing will not kink and is flexible, even in cold weather. The smooth interior reduces friction to maximize airflow and reduce system pressure requirements. Aquascape self-sinking, weighted tubing is UV-resistant, lead-free, fish-safe, and black in color to disguise it on the pond bottom. The tubing has a 3/8” inside diameter, .69” outside diameter, a 2” minimum bend radius, and is rated for all temperatures. Aquascape Weighted Aeration Tubing is proudly made in the USA.

I bought this because I put together my own pond aeration system. It works great and saved me some money to buy the parts individually. Quality seems fantastic and I expect this to last for years if not decades.

Needed to buy replacement tubing. This weighted tubing was easy to install, unlike the original tubing that came with our pump, which we had to attach our own weights and still it was visible. This tubing does not float and the black color makes it nearly invisible.

This 25' black weighted air hose is just what I needed to aerate my koi pond. It sunk right down to the bottom of my pond and became invisible on my black rubber liner. My constructive criticism: If only Aquascapes had included this instead of the cheesy bright blue air hose with their recently purchased Pro Air 20 air pump kit as standard, then I'd be truly happy, so I'm taking a star off for manipulative marketing. I resent buying wasteful things twice. It was a little tight getting it on a check valve, but with a little spit and effort routing it wider with a screwdriver rod, success. This hose works exactly as intended. Please make this the Aquascapes standard. Why would you include any else other than this with your kits? Thanks.

About a month after installation, this hose fractured a number of times from light handling. When I say light, picking it up gently would result in a break. I'm in the material science business and I suspect the manufacturer compounded it with fillers to make it heavy. But also mage it brittle. Had it splice a number of times. To be balanced, all cracking has been above-ground (in the hose segment that runs from my aerator to the water). No cracks in the submerged part. After latest crack (yesterday) replaced all the above-ground hose.

My only complaint is that this should be the default tubing that comes with the Aquascape aerators. It's ridiculous that I have to purchase is separately.
