I was hesitant to spend this much money on another scroll frame. I spent a reasonable amount of money on a split dowel frame previously and I couldn't stand it. It was hard to use and constantly lost tension. There were not a lot of reviews for this one, for an Amazon item anyway, and the cost was a bit high but the reviews that were there seemed genuine so I decided to go for it. I was blown away with the quality. It is all hardwood with a really nice finish. All of the edges are rounded with no sharp edges anywhere. The kit came with three different roller sizes, two different sides, and 2 sets of nuts so you actually get two frames that can be used at the same time, albeit different sizes. The clips that hold the fabric on are very secure and very easy to use and I find that aida cloth can be tensioned across the entire length and width so no side clips are needed in my opinion.

I have several scroll frames and have not loved them for different reasons. I finally bought the Arabeska special edition. It is the best one so far. The fabric holds taut and the clips work well. The SE has 3 sizes which is useful. It is a $50 purchase but definitely worth the money. The quality is excellent. The wood is smooth and the frame is easy to hold.

Having purchased another substandard frame from a different seller, I was a tad gun shy, but I read the reviews, looked through the questions/answers, and hit “buy now.†I am so impressed! Easy to use, top quality (smooth, sturdy, light), holds the large needle point canvas I’ve been wrangling for months. I rarely take time to write reviews and always wait a while to make sure I’ve used the product enough to endorse or critique and so I hope people find this helpful. I purchase the large set because I wanted to accommodate my large canvas, but in doing so, I gained enough parts to set up a second project if I needed to. The wood is like a nice piece of furniture, smooth and (not that it matters) attractive. The smooth attribute was something I worried about. The largest frame is still lightweight (I’m no spring chicken) and not unwieldy—another concern I had. And the short plastic grips are well designed, easy to use and work! They keep the canvas snuggly on the rod, which I was worried about, since many folks use them for cross stitch in the reviews and I am doing needle point. I am 100% satisfied with this product. So happy when something works out!

If you know you know! How many times have you been upset that a circle hoop stretched the fabric and you couldn’t iron it out enough to frame? Or your frame was too big to accommodate a small piece? The pieces on the rods snap onto your fabric so it securely holds your pieces without damaging the fabric. And it doesn’t rely on tension screws to secure the fabric which never hold it tight enough in my experience. It’s light weight and highly efficient! The multiple holes on each bar make sizing your piece easy and secure the bars with easily adjustable screws! Seriously game changing! Thank you so much to whoever designed and produced this product! I have been cross stitching since I was 6 years old and I have never used a tool this wonderful! Again thank you!

I’ve tried many cross stitch frames over the years and this by far is my absolute favorite! Most scroll frames I’ve tried you have to slide the fabric through a slit in the scroll bars which could be difficult to put in correctly, keep the fabric even and could snag the fabric. This frame has simple clips to attach the fabric allowing me to do it in seconds. It is much sturdier than other frames and doesn’t warp from tension at all. The knobs on the arms also get rid of the exposed wing nuts in other scroll frames that can catch the string when working. It is extremely well made, sturdy and very easy to use and set up and allows for several size options on one set of bars. I bought one set for myself and fell instantly in love with them and bought a second set for my mother as well. I highly recommend this project for any one working on cross stitch

I love how easy it is to put the fabric on the scroll bars so I don't have to fool with basting. It's a great value because you get three sizes for the price and can have two projects going at once. Overall it is really easy to use and put together. I appreciate the wingnut tighteners (not sure of terminology) where scroll bars and side bars come together are wood capped. This is also quite light and I don't get quite so tired holding it like I do with large projects in hoops. One thing that happens will all scroll frames is the inevitable loosening of the fabric leading me to retighten regularly. This happens less than with the scroll frames I've bought from Walmart, but it would be nice to have some kind of clamps to help hold tension as part of package.

I just opened the box with this frame system in it. I have to say I have used many hand held frames over the years and I am so mpresses with the quality and the durability of this product. If I could have done 10 stars I would have. The clips are very easy to put on and off. The wood will never strip because of the metal screws and inserts. And finally, the wood is sanded with no rough edges of slivers. Immediately after I write this review, I am going to order the next size set down. Very versatile and adaptable to all you cross stitch or embroidery needs.

I am using the frame for continental stitch tapestry. It is very easy to attach the canvas to the frame without using stitching or staples, but the canvas is held firmly. The frame is light but sturdy and the wooden tightening screws are easy to adjust. Wonderful!

A little fiddly to keep linen straight loading but it is secure and seems to be holding taut so far. Saves having to baste on and reasonably priced.
