I have a Toro Power Max 828 with 16x4.5-8 tires. These fit, but it takes some effort. I fully deflated the tires and raised the side of the blower off the ground so I could easily spin the tire. I got the S hook connected on the blower side, and then started in the middle of the chain and tried to create slack going clockwise and counterclockwise towards the connector.I had to use pliers on the first one in order get the locking link set. The other tire I was able to do by hand, but again, it's a tight fit.

They are the correct fit as advertised to fit my snowblower. Just look in your Ariens snowblower manual to find the tire size and cross check size online if you prefer. I have the Ariens Deluxe 28 machine. The chains seem well built. As it goes with me on anything, one went on easier than the other. I stress that you deflate tires first all the way. Carefully place the chains over tire, adjust chains, roll machine a little to wrap chains and secure with the chain “locks” on both side ends of chains. Than inflate tires slowly while you adjust the chains. Do it slowly and carefully as you go and I promise the chains will be tight. But the chains have to be the correct size for your tires. Yeah these chains were expensive but they are sold of high quality. Take your time and it will turn out well. You do Not have to remove the tires. Also, I like the crisscross pattern of these chains. Why put on chains that get buried down between treads which will minimize gripping on packed snow or ice and sludge?! Duh…..

These do work well, but do yourself a favor and take the wheel off the machine and deflate the tire. Far easier to adjust them for a good fit with it sitting in your lap instead of trying to do it on the machine. Also this would be a good time to grease up the axle so the wheel doesn't rust itself onto it.

I concur 110% with those who recommend removing your machine’s wheels to install these chains. Even with deflating the tires and having them on a comfortable-height work surface, installation is a bit of an ordeal. My real disappointment with these chains is how they pretty much lay along the tread recesses of my Ariens snowblower’s tires. This leaves very little exposed to aid in traction. There’s an improvement in grip, but not to the degree a more radial-patterned design would provide.Update: I’m returning them for refund. The way the chains sit down in the treads leaves them pretty much ineffective.

Read the reviews and ordered these for my Ariens deluxe. Took the advice from some and let out the air in the tires. Still a bit of a struggle but got it done with vise grips.

These chains are a game changer on my Ariens 24" Platinum SHO with EFI. They make plowing through deep heavy snow uphill possible. Something i couldn't do before. Installation is "easy", if you take your time, and ensure that the chain is tightly applied to the tire as you go (the same way you have to tightly apply pipe thread tape to a pipe). The first chain went on effortlessly, and i struggled a little bit with the second. I had a buddy help me latch the clasp on the second chain, which made the job even easier. You must set the snowblower in the "maintenance position", to do the install otherwise it will be near impossible to wrap the chain evenly across the very knobby tire. I wish i had purchased these sooner.

The description was correct it fit my snowblower tires perfectly I’ll be moving much easier this winter with the added traction that will mean more snow out the chute

I think it took me longer to gather all the tools I thought I might need than it took to install them. After reading so many reviews stating how hard these were to install, I had many pliers and pry-bars at the ready. Only need a set of line's man pliers and some patience. If you take the time to work the slack out towards the extremities, these go on the tires very easy: the second set I didn't even use the pliers to close the binder. Not every cross-chain will go over a row of lugs so some sections are not as useful as they could be, but it's still better than not having chains at all when the bottom has iced up.Make sure you buy the right size chains for your tires and they will fit just fine. I put these on my Ariens and they work great.

They fit perfectly with the knobby tires that they were made for, dont even need to deflate the tires just a little patience. Night and day difference in traction. Really should have bought them years ago.

Just got these today. Ordered size as per my tire. Followed instructions to the letter. Could not get these tire chains on for the life of me. Supposedly the extra links help and you're are supposed to tie back or cut off these links after installation. The C hook will hook up with much groaning and labour but the locking mechanism won't reach the last link of the chain. Build is great quality, but even several views on YouTube din't even helpme get these puppies on the tire. Will try once later after I get my breath back otherwise back they go. Anyone out there have a solution?
