I didn't realize what the plate was until I looked it up to see what it was. It's been a long time since I bought this, installed it, and used it for about 3 seasons. It's lasted longer on the smooth concrete than I had expected, but before the cement in our former residence was quite rough and abrasive, I have balance problems that make pushing a wild snowblower a little more than I feel comfortable, and the condo we live in has a vendor that we pay during the snowy season to keep the need for my participation not as needful as in the past. I still have the snowblower, and have used it lightly for the past couple of years, and the plate, will need to be replaced again, in the future, After all, the darn things don't last forever.

Fit my Craftsman 24" snowblower with no issues. Thickness was pretty much same as the original part. Went together with no problems. I did order a set of new carriage bolts and nuts as my old ones had scraped halfway thru. This item does not come with any hardware so be sure to order that too.

Once I got the old rusted and damaged bolts out and straightened the mount points with a hammer, this bolted right up with new bolts. I also changed the feet and made recommended height adjustments on the feet. Recommendations for smooth hard surface varied from 1/8 to 1/4 inch blade above the surface but never touching. You just rest the blade on a smooth hard surface and place a wood wedge or other item the proper thickness under the middle or both sides and adjust the shoes on each side up or down until then touch evenly. Appears slightly thinner than original, but if I keep the height adjusted correctly should last for many years.

The original was in bad shape, I was hoping this would be an easy swap and sure enough it was. Excellent fit and what a positive difference it made. Appears thicker and stronger than original and our snowblower is working great now! Very pleased.

While slightly thinner than the original one on my Craftsman unit, this one is far superior for the price. Sears/Craftsman will charge you double...Just make sure you get the bolts/nuts to go with it. I picked them up on Amazon as well for about 1/4 of what Sears/Craftsman want for them (they want $3-5 EACH...) and got twice the quantity. The bolts you need (for a Craftsman/MTD/Yardman/Toro unit, as they are all made by the same manufacturer) are a 5/16-18 x 3/4" long carriage bolt. Chances are pretty good that you won't find them locally. I hunted 7 hardware stores and came up with a total of 3. Your mileage may vary...The nut you need is a 5/16-18 flange-lock nut with a nylon insert. At least that's what was originally on there. I went with a standard nut with the nylon insert rather than continuing to hunt for the flange-lock... It may come slightly loose, but we'll see.

I was very pleased with the high quality of this product. It was more money than other shave plates, but well worth it as this is made from heavier, thick steel. It also was a perfect replacement fit for my 24" Cub Cadet snow blower. Made by MTD. The delivery was fast. Couple days ahead of the estimated ship date.

The bar is approx 3/8 inch too short so it does NOT fit on the exterior of a 24 inch snowblower. The scraper itself is 1/2 as thick as the original one AND THE HOLES WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING IN THE SAME SPOT........For $55.00 I would have expected BETTER THAN THIS........So had to cut the 90 angled iron pieces OFF the bar to start with so that it would fit, then had to drill THREE NEW holes, but that steel is so CHEAP that it was like going thru butter....JUNK
