Just bought a brand new Snow Blower. I have prior experience with non steel skid shoes. These will glide alot better than steel. I know, I know, your sliding across snow and ice covered ground, I get it. But when those steel shoes do get traction, they grab and tug where these will continue to just glide. Especially over brick pavers and other non-asphalt surfaces. Worth the money and easy to install.

After putting a new concrete driveway I didn’t want to scratch it all over with the metal shoes of the snowblower which lead me to build some ABS sliders. They worked good but finally fell off. I didn’t know Ariens snowblowers were coming with these from factory!!! They are very good quality, new galvanized hardware lots of value for the money paid. My snowblower is from 2009 - 2010 and they work perfectly. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!

I thought the metal shoes that came with the snow blower would be better, right? Metal is stronger than plastic so of course it is better. NO! The metal has much higher friction and would yank the snowblower to the side if it hit pavement. The plastic shoes glide much better. I can't speak to durability yet but am willing to replace these ever now and then for the smoother performance. Oh - and these will not rust on the floor.

I've now purchased both versions of Ariens composite skid shoe kit: the 'old' style that was a solid block of composite material (for my older Deluxe 30) and now the 'new' style with the steel center insert and thinner, outer composite 'ring' the surrounds the steel insert (for my Platinum 30 SHO). Good news: they both function as Ariens intended, which is to say very well on broken or uneven surfaces. Yes, I prefer the older monoblock style, but cannot fault the new design. For sure, I didn't return them. Give 'em a chance, you'll like them too.

Put these on my 7 year old Ariens and they work so much better than the stock steel ones. Much smoother operation with less grabbing on uneven surfaces.

They perfectly fit my snowblower and very easy to install. The plastic will not damage my driveway.
