My Ariens snow thrower has been working well, until it could no longer self-propel. Opening the bottom panel revealed that the friction disc was badly worn and no longer made good contact. This item has a good, thick, rubber edge, which I expect will last a long time. It is easy to install if you have a few basic mechanical skills and simple tools (screwdriver, pilers, socket set or wrenches); search YouTube for videos posted by a service tech or handyman. When replacing the friction plate you'll also want to lubricate other parts and clean the flat drive plate (not this rubber coated friction disc) with brake cleaner to remove any stray grease or oil.My snow thrower was discontinued in 2015, so it is over 7 years old, and now moves like new.

This fits perfectly and actually has more rubber on it for better contact on drive wheel and its not cheap soft rubber either it's hig j quality j will buy my replacements for any future repairs I do on everyone's snowblowers.

The only thing you have to do for this application is transfer the brake material to the new drive wheel. It kind of wedges inside not glued or anything.
