I ordered these for a rhythm class I was taking. The craftsmanship is sturdy but they don’t look professionally made. If you’re used to Indian workmanship, this is not surprising.The sound is good, and they fit well on my ankles. My biggest complaint is that they smell like mold and mildew. It’s pretty strong. I felt like it would be tolerable since I wear them on my ankles, but I was wrong. I let them air out and have tried hand washing and sun drying without much luck. In hindsight I should have returned them.

I received my order today, but it was already damaged. It couldn’t have happened from shipping it because it was secured inside the package. The sound is good even though the bells aren’t exactly evenly placed. I was, at most, disappointed with the rip. The other videos show how the soft sponge inside helps which drew me to buy this. Everyone knows you need stable ghoongrus for kathak. I can’t dance with the fear of having them rip.
