I figured I would try these out and take them to work where I teach gardening. Well. I was amazed. They truly are THE BEST markers for plant tags. Forget Sharpies. Sharpies will fade and the tags written in Sharpie didn’t last a few rain storms. BUT, the rags with these markers are still fresh as the day I placed the tags. Since the pens all disappeared, I’m buying more as these are the only markers that actually stay and stand up to environmental factors in the garden. ….I’m so glad I took pictures of the tags I used sharpies with so I could then go over them with these markers when all of the Sharpie ink disappeared in the elements. And these have a nice fine point.

Bought a dozen of these in the spring of 2022, and two years later I can say unequivocally that these markers absolutely do what they claim to. The black ink stays dark and readable on plastic label stakes all the way through a California growing season, and this spring (2024) I've even recycled a couple of the labels stakes from last year for varieties I'm planting again this year. The tip is a good size (not too big, not too small) for writing on the stakes. Ink spreads very little if at all, so edges of the printing stay sharp and easy to read. Caps have a satisfying snap and so far (2+ seasons) have kept the tips from drying out. Highly recommended, and I do NOT say that lightly.

I'm a gardener who labels everything. I forget and I need the labels to remind me. I have all sorts of labels I use. Plastic signs, wooden tongue depressors, bamboo signs, cut up milk jugs, whatever.And this pen not only writes on all those surfaces, the writing stays. It does not fade in full sun. It does not wash of even when hit with insecticidal soap and so far, even after a year, it doesn't fade with age.And the ones that I didn't use last season, well, they write perfectly well when opened. The ones I did use last year, if I closed the cap, also write perfectly well when opened.Definitely recommend these.

I ordered these to keep up with all of the varieties of peppers and tomatoes I grow from seed every year. I've always had a hard tie finding a marker that would hold up outside. I wish I would have known years ago that Sanford was discontinuing their solvent based permanent markers, because since then, I haven't found one that really holds up to outdoor use. These Artline markers are doing better than any others I've tried, but after three months, I am starting to have a hard time reading some of them. They do write nicely, and don't have any foul odor, which makes them pleasant to use. I just wish they were longer lasting.In my opinion, if you're using these to mark plastic plant tags that only have to last from starting seedlings, to planting them in the garden a few months later, these will work fine. If you need them to a couple of seasons or more, I'd recommend using an embossing label maker. I just don't see the plastic tags I marked with these Artline markers lasting through the growing season and still being legible. On the other hand, if you're using wooden plant tags, these should hold up much longer, although the felt tips may not last along writing on them.

I love these markers. I used them on stickers for refrigerated food items so I know the dates. They came very quickly in the mail. They dry quickly and do not smudge. I plan to use them on freezer items as well, but have not as yet.

I love these pens!!!! Not only do I garden, I am also a quilter and I need pens to mark my labels on my quilts. So far this pen works really good for that also. The price is wonderful and they ship out super fast. I will be order from them again. I also will be telling my quilt group about the pen and hopefully my friends will order also. Thanks Kevin from Epic Gardening for telling us about the pens.
