For stability and endurance, an over-sized steel shaft spins in a top mounted sealed ball bearing while an extra long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing. Features an adjustable mechanical advance which allows you to custom tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs. There is also a vacuum advance canister to help improve economy.

The ignition module never worked properly. The engine was weak and hard to start and backfired occasionally. After 33 miles it failed leaving me stranded. I bought a GM 4 connector module and wired it. At least the wire colors were correct. It ran way stronger with no backfiring and started instantly. The only problem it’s too large to fit inside the distributor. I ordered a Procomp module #IG383.1002 that I’m hoping will fit.Update. The Pro Comp does fit perfectly. But when the bad ignition module went out the engine backfired and blew out the vacuum advance. You can’t buy a replacement! There’s 4 parts on a distributor that must be replaced occasionally, the cap, the rotor, ignition module and the vacuum advance. If you can’t buy these replacement parts there’s no reason to purchase the distributor! Side note looking at the vacuum advance construction it only moved approximately 1/8†when it was working! That’s about 1/2 degree of advance! Lol

Bought because a traditional HEI will not clear the firewall on my 56 Chevrolet. Dropped right in, 2 wire hookup, works as it should so far....2 hours .... DON'T FORGET TO BUY A REMOTE COIL HEI TYPE WIRE.....normal HEI kits do not include one.

Small resistor & spring in the cap, contacts the spinning rotor, which distributes the spark.Resistor with weak or broken spring, 'bounces', causing random firing.

I ordered one of these and the contact tip held with a spring broke out the plastic cap. Ordered a new cap from them, didn't work, so i used a whole new distributor from them, and the contact pin broke out of the cap AGAIN.

Junk. The magnets weren’t even tight and when I started my motor CRACK! Took the cam gear out. The magnets in the distributor meshed.
