Made in the USA with natural boar bristles that are epoxy set in stainless steel ferrules with a classic sanded beech wood handle that has a hole for hanging storage. The natural boar bristles have higher heat resistance and greater absorbency than nylon or silicone bristles, stainless steel ferrules are more durable and heat resistant than composite or plastic ferrules. They are the most versatile brush in the kitchen for so many recipes. Whether you are applying melted butter, egg wash, sweet glaze, olive oil or a thin marinade, these brushes will do the job. It is best practice to have separate brushes designated for sweet or savory use, to prevent the transfer of flavors between your pastries and savory meat dishes. The bristles are epoxy set in the ferrule to help keep a cleaner kitchen and reduce bristle shedding. There were many brushes online and it was really hard to choose but the reviews steered me away from them because of hair/bristles falling out. I’m glad I chose this one in particular. I haven’t had ONE bristle fall out whatsoever! The application was perfect and made baking so much more easier and neat. The handle is wood and the metal is steel. Bristles are boar hair. Over all wonderful product made in the USA 🇺🇸 honest and straight to the point. Definitely worth purchasing again in the future 💕

I have been using this Ateco model #60015 1.5" wide pastry brush for a couple of months now, and I am extremely happy with the results and quality. I bought this based on the recommendation from Cook's Illustrated America's Test Kitchen. I use it just for light things, such as brushing butter on delicate doughs. The most delicate dough I have used this with is filo dough. I have no issues of it grabbing or tearing the dough. This has been by far the best brush I have ever used.I also have an OXO Good Grips silicone brush. I like it for heavier sauces, but I don't like it for brushing on butter or working with delicate dough. This is what prompted me to get the Ateco pastry brush. I recommend having both types of brushes and using them for different tasks.The Ateco 60015 brush I received was just like the one pictures. It say Ateco 60015 on the handle, along with natural bristle and made in U.S.A. The metal says stainless steel. There is nothing to indicate what kind of bristles that brush has. I own pig bristle and horse hair brushes, and bristles seem similar but softer than my pig bristle brush. This brush is very high quality, and I expect it to last me for years.

I didn't purchase this brush for baking but instead, we use it to clean out our popcorn machine in our movie room. There are slits between the glass and the stainless steel that you can never get anything out of and this brush enables us to get those little shavings out from these crevices. It has worked perfectly for this use. I do bake frequently and might have to buy this 2.5" for when I make larger batches. I've always used a much smaller brush and I imagined how easy this size could be for those instances.

This is a great pastry/basting brush. The natural bristles help spread sauces and egg washes much more evenly than silicone bristles. The only downside is that it has to be hand washed, but I think that makes it longer lasting anyway. My last “dishwasher-safe” pastry brush broke after 6 months because the glue stopped holding and all the bristles came out. This one is still going strong after 6 months.

This brush was just what I needed as a beginner to baking. The bristles are soft enough to not damage pie crust but can hold the egg wash nicely! I highly recommend this product and it was a good price!

Good size brush but as I've found with any pastry brush, the bristles continuously fall out so I have to pay extra careful attention and remove bristles left in pans. I ended up throwing it away, it's just easier to my hand or a paper towel.

First, I took a chance, and purchased 2 of these brushes, and I am SO glad I did. One for Pastry and one for the Grill. As a Pastry brush, it's Wonderful, It's everything you want in a good pastry brush. The white bristles make all the difference in the world. It's a good size brush, and find that the small ones take forever to use, and with the white bristles you don't have to worry about being gentle with it, they do that for you. I cook a lot, and don't have time to be very delicate, and take forever, when a light touch of butter needs to be washed over my poofy buns. This is the PERFECT White Bristle Brush for pastry. I also gave up on the standard BBQ mops, brushes, etc. and I can already tell, that this brush will be perfect for that purpose too, so my search for a good brush is over, I will never search again, this is it, the perfect brush. The quality is great, White Bristle Brushes work better than any other, and I'm just thrilled with them.PS Fast shipping too!

It's definitely better than other cheaper options on Amazon. As shown in the picture, the left is the 2" Ateco pastry brush and the right the a cheap 3" pastry brush that I got on Amazon last week.

I like this little brush. It's a great size for food detail work. No bristle shedding so far and I've used it for chocolate and egg.
