I had moisture on my walls in the hallway where my attic door is. I was told I needed new insulation so I spent over $1,000 to do that. Still had moisture. I bought this to stop any warm air leaking into the house and it worked perfectly. No more moisture. When I open the attic, I don’t get blasted by hot air. And it is surprisingly easy to unzip and get up there. I don’t have trouble getting things down once I unzip it. It was easy to install-just staple around the edges and tape over the edges. I did it in 10 minutes. Make sure you tape around it with insulating tape. Don’t skip that step because it really helps.

I had the Electric Company come out and do a 3-hour whole-house energy survey. When they ran the inverse fan house test, it was obvious that the attic had too much air flow. He suggested to tent it with a product like this. I thought this would take me 1/2 an hour. It took just 10 minutes! Really good quality and sturdy. Use the longer size staples if you have them available. I thought I would have to use wood strapping and staple through that. I did not need it because the black fabric border piece where you staple, is good and strong. Plus, the zipper opens and closes easily so no tugging on stapled area. A very simple project with excellent results. All breezes are gone and now an additional barrier to unwanted air transfer from living area to attic. Very highly recommend this product.BTW, Don't listen to the reviews that criticize the fit. Start stapling in the middle where you come out of the steps, then slowly staple your way back. Be sure to corner staple each 90 degree corner before going backwards. When you get to the back end, simply give a gentle fold and it will fit very nicely. Again, LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!

This item is exactly as described. I installed it by first using double sided Gorilla Tape to seal around the inner perimeter edges of the attic stair frame and then stapled it to the same frame. Installation was quick and easy. Most people have given this product very good reviews. However, one reviewer stated “Zipper doesn't mesh tight and leaks air” and “I could see light where the zipper meshes between the zipper teeth.” After receiving this item, I held it up to the light and didn’t see any light coming through the zipper seams. Once I mounted it I turned the attic light on and again saw no light seeping through the seams of the zipper. I’m glad I paid no mind to that one bad review. In conclusion, this is a very good product and once mounted I didn’t feel any air seeping through the zipper seams and could feel the difference immediately between this and the tent type insulation that I was previously using. Can’t beat the quality of this product or the price!

Easy to install. Seems to have lowered the temp. Not really sure yet. Hey, anything is better than nothing. It can't hurt. Not for $32

Wow! The attic ceiling door in our upstairs bedroom leaked a lot of heat into the room. Any one sleeping there would be too hot resulting in thermostat warfare. This insulator was pretty easy to install, just need a small staple gun, and it's easy to unzip.

Our stairway was a bit narrower but cover still worked. Immediately stopped the wind blowing through the attic from coming into the landing.

Our attic door with pull down ladder steps in this old (1940's) house is right above the thermostat. It was hard to seal the door and also retain access. I was skeptical of the "easy to install" comments but it was! It was helpful to watch a couple of the demo videos to get the idea. I used "double-sided super tape" and a staple gun. The material can be pleated to make a snug fit. Access is easy with the zipper opening. We feel a temperature difference, winter and now summer in the hallway. Our AC is running less, too!

I stapled it (12mm staples) to attic stairs wood frame and also used Tuck Take all around the perimeter edges. Tuck Tape is a vapour resistant tape no permeable to vapour. So it's both stapled and sealed. Yet it's only 0C (32F) outside and when I opened the attic stairs door cool air came flowing down. I have a light in the attic and I could see light where the zipper meshes between the zipper teeth (elements). When it gets to -20C (-4F) as it does here this thing will be useless. This product and the installation was a waste of my time, effort, and money. I do NOT recommend!
