Assists you back into your kayak after capsizing. Simply slip the inflated float over the end of your paddle and use as leverage for climbing back in. Auto-valve makes single-handed inflation possible allowing you to hold onto your kayak while blowing up the float. A must for every kayaker.

This is an amazing float and very well made. I love the fact that it has the reflective struips, and it holds air and does not leak one bit. Very well made, and this may save you if you need to re-enter your kayak/boat. I also have one for my gear inflated to keep a heavy box from sinking. thats attwood!

The instructions are NOT indicative of the designed and supplied product. Namely, the valve design is a departure from the advertised design and that shown in the instructions. This product originally had a manual twist style valve, which worked intuitively and ensured a tight seal for reliable inflation. As supplied, the paddle float uses a peculiar, spring-loaded auto-valve. While this is, ostensibly, a product improvement, this new feature has a tendency to stick in the open position making sustained inflation impossible. As this paddle float is a "safety device" where positive, reliable operation is a necessity, this flaw is not tolerable. However, the spring-loaded valve gut can be removed (carefully grasp the valve innards with a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull) and the flaw corrected with a pair of clippers. There are three tines that retain the spring in the end of the valve gut. One of them is too long (where the plastic part is attached to a molding spru during manufacture) and catches on the inside of the valve tube. Just clip the extra long bit to the same length as the two others and push the valve gut back into the inflation tube. After this modification, the valve works as intended. I purchased two of these paddle floats and both suffered from the same flaw. Additionally, one of the two paddle floats had a manufacturing defect that rendered one fo the two inflation chambers useless. It leaked catastrophically due to another manufacturing defect. The defective unit was returned for a refund from Amazon. I did not bother seeking a replacement Attwood product. I purchased a paddle float manufactured by Seattle Sports, which worked flawlessly as shipped.

This is my sixth paddle float, many kayaks, and is well made. Mine came with dual chambers and twist lock inflation valves, It is as good as any of my other floats of various brands.

I just received my second Attwood paddle float and, once again, I am extremely disappointed. I am having the same problem that many of the other reviewers are experiencing......the very poor design and operation of the inflation/deflation valve. The other issue is that the caps do not fit the end of the tubing (probably why it comes with the caps loose and not attached to the tubing!).The instructions and the advertised picture of the float show "twist valves" which I am sure probably worked just fine. Why this was changed I have no idea, but, someone in quality control and/or design should lose their job. The "new" valves are crap from the word go. The rest of the float is made of very good material and would be an excellent product were it not for the POS valves!Stay away from this particular product........you would be better off with a penny balloon and a twist tie.

The caps on the filling tubes do not fit snugly and can easily come off. One of the two tubes leaked air and was difficult to deflate. I had to return it to the seller.

First of all, you're getting a well made item at a super low price, but with a fatal flaw. I ordered two of these for my coastal sea kayak touring needs and immediately tested them out. Four out of four valves stick open and don't hold air about two out of every three attempts. The plastic and spring used inside the valve appears very cheap to me, like something you'd find in a cracker jack box. I found I could get the valves to close by tapping on the side of the tube. The reason I didn't give an even lower rating is because the chambers do actually hold air well once valve is closed. I left them inflated overnight to test. Net/net I will be returning due to lack of reliability where it counts the most.

I ordered & received (3) paddle floats for my family. Reading multiple reviews regarding leaking from the inflating valves: I tested both valves on all (3) paddle floats. Each has 2 valves and I noticed zero leakage or loss of air pressure. I went as far as submerging the valves under water during testing, no leakage found. Maybe I was lucky with the batch I ordered but I found no problems. I must add, my floats have the "light blue color" twist type valves.
