Had wanted to try this style of gambrel for some time. Had a need this season and purchased. Great functionality especially for caping due to it cinching tight to legs. Also lightweight and easy to clean.Highly recommend this product.

I raise and harvest my own livestock and have several standard Gambrels for hunting. This Gambrel is fantastic for my hogs and sheep, just adjust it for the animal being harvested and you are good to go. has supported up to 250 lbs so far with no issues at all. Big mama is pushing 400 and I have no doubt this thing will do what I need it to do when harvesting her.

It worked well on a 275 lb mule deer. We did have on leg pull out while skinning. But we’re side loading it and we couldn’t lift the deer all the way off the ground. So I’ll chock it up to my error. Only other complaint is I’d say it’s a two person operation. One making sure the leg choke point is tight while someone else operates the lifting mechanism. But it’s cleaner than cutting between tendons and possibly getting into sent glands. I just choked the cables around the elbows and lift. I’m sure it’ll work well in the future, especially after a make a taller gantry to lift with.

This works for whatever animal you need to dispatch quickly. Attach it to a tree and it works. What else can be said. Althouh I would not use it for a pig but goat would work too.
