They are ideal for practice spaces, drum lesson, low volume gigs or anywhere you can’t play loud. Building on the incredible success of the cymbal sets, the L80 Low Volume cymbals are available in a 20” Ride and a 10” Splash as well as a 8” Crash Ride and 16” Crash. Not only are these designed to seamlessly integrate into an existing L80 cymbal set, they can be used as stackers or even HiHat components to create new and cool effects.

Excellent Option For Practice or GigsI've owned a set of Zildjian's Low Volume cymbals for about three months, and I'm very impressed. They sound great, are very quiet, and are extremely durable. Perfect for practice or small gigs. The only downside that I can think of is that the finish starts to turn a little dark after prolonged use... however, it does not affect the sound quality in any way. Another issue is that the bell on the ride cymbal does not sound like a traditional bell. But, the rest of the ride sounds excellent. However, I also purchased a Zildjian Low Volume L80 10" Splash cymbal as a separate item, but when I opened the package, the cymbal was (I think) a factory defect, because the shape of it resembled a small China cymbal (see the pictures I attached). I think it was pressed upside down... the bell of it is at the same level of its round edge... got bad luck with this purchase. It sounds great though, so I'm keeping it.

Adding the 20†LV ride completed my quiet practice setup. I already had the Zildjian LV 14†hi-hats with 16†and 18†cymbals. My quiet kit layout is now the same arrangement as my normal drum kit. This is invaluable and I spend many hours of quality practice time on the LV kit and it all translates well to the real drum set. The 20†ride and the other Zildjian LV cymbals are excellent in my opinion and allow quiet accurate technical practice in every respect including good sound, feel, and dynamics. If you are setting up a quiet kit I highly recommend the Zildjian LV cymbals they are worth the money. I personally could not be without these for my serious practice time.

I set up my kit with quiet heads and cymbals to extend the hours I can practice without disturbing the household - or the neighbors with little ones. I have the high hat, 16", 18" and 20" from Zildjian and they are not only fun to play on, but sound good enough for small club gigs. Crisp and responsive with wood or nylon tips. Neighbors asked me if I stopped playing altogether! Been playing on Z's since the 70's - expect quality!

Like many reviewers I'm loving these cymbals. I bought this 20" ride to complete my 14/16/18 set. Two issues : (1) The finish on the cymbals has degraded over 4 months of playing. Since I only use this for solo practice it's not a real issue for me. (2) I've been playing them with a wood tipped 7A. As you can see the stick I alway place in my right hand for cymbal work has whittled away to a nub. Even though the nylon creates a brighter sound, I'll be switching over to a 7AN.

Added to an existing set of L-80 hats, crash, and the 18" crash ride. Been playing with it for a few months now and, while it is definitely louder, my upstairs neighbors tell me they can't hear it.It's weightier than the other L-80's, and was certainly worth the upgrade for me personally. Feels much different to play on than the 18", and makes it possible to get a bunch more sounds. I wear hearing protection even with the L-80's and would definitely recommend using it playing with this cymbal.Disclaimer! I've never had the chance to use non-low volume cymbals, but from what I hear the feel is pretty authentic.

Wow this cymbal is amazing.I thought the 18in crash/ride had stick definition and it does but the 20 ride is crazy. Its quiet and has an underlying low tone but mostly the main thing that "sticks out" is the stick definition.Crazy. Quiet and dripping with stick definition.I thought about it and I suppose a good comparison might be playing your sticks on a tile countertop... I did that a few times when I was a kid and all you hear is your wooden sticks... pretty much only the attack sound of the sticks. That is very similar to this ride but again with a low volume underlying tone pretty much just stick definition. After you stop you can then detect/hear an underlying warm tone with short sustain (drummer talk "fast decay").Not sure what else to say.I love this l80 20inch ride it is amazing.

I love my e-kit, but the rubber cymbals just don't do it for me. This ride feels like a real cymbal without driving the neighbors crazy or requiring earplugs to protect my hearing. Highly recommended for practice.

Using nylon tip Regal 5A drum sticks. . .Nice quiet ride, but really crappy crash.Wire or Wood brushes, forget it!

Es un excelente platillo para ensayar sin hacer mucho ruido, para espacios donde no puedas hacer demasiado ruido y se sienten cómo platillos normales.

Best Ride Cymbal I could buy for low volume, very low sustain. They are more pricey but they the best!

Very nice cymbals which have an authentic feel and I would suggest they reduce sound by at least 60%.
