Considering the price of some sinking tip fly lines, it seemed worthwhile to give the Aventik line a try. Reading earlier reviews, I picked up on three potential problems, 1) it didn't come on a spool, so could be difficult to load onto a reel; 2) the sinking tip didn't sink, and 3) the welded loop could break. None of the three was an issue for me. First of all, the line I received did come loosely spooled on a plastic spool. I was careful loading the line, and had no problems. An earlier review had suggested washing the sinking tip to remove any manufacturing oil, so I did that. I haven't fished with the line yet (next week!) but at least in the sink, the sinking tip showed no intention of floating. And finally, when I put a leader on the loop, I gave it a hard tug and everything held together. The line seems to cast fine, so I expect it will work as it should.

To be honest I was thinking this 8w line wouldn't be great but would maybe do the job. But once I got it to the water I was blown away!! Did not have any memory, was soft and slick threw the guides and casted like a champ Everytime! I could throw some big bugs out nice and easy. Solid line! Going to buy a couple more for sure. For the price it's a no brainer! For the bad reviews I'd say these guys are doing something wrong or have the wrong set up working together, so for 15 bucks just buy the thing and I bet your happy with it all the way!

This line casts really smoothly and the sinking tip is great for getting flies down to the bass during colder months here in Texas!

I really like the Aventik lines. They seem to be well made, correct weight and have welded loops on both ends. I have three of them now and they are a great value when compared to the name brands.

Sorta confused on how it floats for some the black licorice dense end is rather heavy.. maybe some put it on backwards or used a floating leader on it enough to float it . Remember it's sink TIP not sinking and you won't be disappointed .

notice to the buyers, of this sinking line, its advertized that it sinks at a rate of 5-6 " per second, , well not true , in fact the line does sink but at half that speed. to increase sinking speed i used split shot very tiny ones spaced out at 1 foot spaces 4 in total. this method increase the sinking rate to 12" per secound doubling the rate of the companys rate, also the casting is far better ! reason for the added weights is because of the conditions of the faster moving waters in the stream/river , not getting down fast means NO FISH? im going to experiment more on seeing if this line can work , look for updates in the future

My husband had me order the Aventik sinking line and we received it promptly (like 2 days) probably because we are prime members. In any event, my husband put it on his fishing pole, went to our camp, threw his line into Pine Creek and within minutes, had his first catch of the season. He has been fishing previously with no luck. But this time he came home with two beautiful brook trout! It made for a great supper!

I really enjoyed casting and fishing with this line. It works great and is nice and slick, shoots through my guides really nice. The sinking tip worked great too. It did exactly what I wanted it to do and got my fly down to where the fish were. One improvement I would like to see is if the shooting head could have it's own color. This would help with lining up the head when casting allowing the rod to load properly for a good cast. Visually I couldn't tell where the shooting head and line met but I could feel it when loading the rod. You can get a feel for the line when casting but it would make things more consistent if you could see it visually too. Other than that, it's a really nice line.

I used this on the river today and it worked perfectly! It floated great where it’s supposed to and it sunk where it should sink! Also the welded look on the end is extremely strong and reliable.

Déception sur la description, il n'y a aucune boucle soudée.
