Bolt / plug in replacement worked well. Except for the unmarked brush connectors. Had a 50/50 chance of correct connection and whoops, no output. Voltmeter check and had the blue/yellow reversed. Blue + . 117vac & 234ac no load. 110 & 220 loaded. My only concern is the lack of a heat sink on the power transistor. One inch square of thin aluminum should suffice.

I bought this regulator to replace the one on my generator. I am a contractor, and when I use my generator, it runs 8hrs. a day every day for weeks at a time. I bought this one because I felt the cheaper ones would not be as robust. Installed in generator along with new brushes. Fired it up and checked voltages, all good.Recently got another job where need the generator daily. Ran fine for a week. Then compressor starts having problems kicking on and saws start struggling. Get my meter out and find I'm only getting 93 volts at all outlets. Check brushes, still good. Put in regulator purchased elsewhere. Right back up to 120v.If you want to have reliable generator, do not by this part.

First AVR came with the big capacitor in the back installed crooked so it hit the case of the generator and could not be bolted in the case. I thought this was likely a manufacturing defect, and a fluke so I ordered same item as replacement and I was correct, the replacement was assembled correctly. Please note: blue wire is + and installed on left side of brushes, terminal closest to armature.Unfortunately the voltage setting was way off, only had I think 200v, I must have turned the adjustment pot 12 full turns to obtain 240/122v.Note 2) you must turn screw counter clockwise to increase voltage, this is opposite what I saw in other posts.I have only tested with 1500w so I sure hope this holds up when neededI will try another brand next time, although I tend to think they all all made the same.
