I was having problems with voltage fluctuation in my 1999 Dodge Ram, so I bought a voltage regulator kit off of eBay to replace the old external regulator that was installed by the previous owner. To my surprise, my alternator would not kick on after the install, so I reinstalled the original regulator and it still would not workI then installed a brand new alternator, and still nothing. On a whim, I ordered this cheap regulator as a last resort before seeing a mechanic, and it works fantastic! Turns out that I fried both the old regulators because when I reused existing wiring, the 12v hot made contact with the right post instead of the top postStarted fresh with this regulator and it is great! Truck runs at 14.72v now!

Easy to wire in, Definitely works. It puts out around15.3 volts instead of the usual 14.7 volts.

Purchased this when my alternator went out. Not to long after i noticed erratic charging, stero system would go on and off, headlights flickering. Started troubleshooting over a coarse of a few weeks to find that i was charging at 18.2 volts under acceleration and At idle was a normal 14.9. After chasing wires and testing for resistance over the weeks, i Pulled my alternator and had it tested and it tested fine. I decided to throw a new OE regulator in from the auto parts store anyway just as a process of elimination and now its Charging just fine now at 14.9 volts on the OE.If you dont want a headache and or possibly damage to your vehicle, steer clear of this regulator and go with OE.

Not fully sure about it to make an accurate review, my voltage is fluctuating and I am still attempting to discern if its regulator or not. I have a nippondenso alternator freshly rebuilt.
