These are great. Added this in my shops water supply line where it enters. Used it in conjunction with a timer and a 12 Volt Power supply. I don't frequent this room, so it can be turned on only when water is needed. The timer shuts off automatically so it's something I don't have to worry about when I'm not there. Before this, I had visions of there being a flood next time I entered. These are not meant for continuous duty, so it's only on (open) when the timer is on, and off (closed) when the timer is at zero minutes remaining. That made it perfect for my use. For other uses check your duty cycle. Also, check for compatibility with the fluid you'll be controlling. Note: These can overheat and burn out if left on continuously at 12 volts. Check the specification on this if that is what you desire.

I bought this valve for floor heating and to work with the thermostat & circulating pumps, to help with intelligent control to achieve a consistent indoor temperature (125℉). It is worth noting that unlike some electric valves, which have complex wiring requirements, this is a simple operation with only two lines. If there are any problems, it's easy to disassemble and replace damaged parts. I replaced the coil of my last valve after two years use, and it's not as difficult as it's supposed to be. I suggest reading the CAUTIONS carefully before use, because once the installation caused my valve to be damaged. When I installed it as a bidirectional valve, I didn't notice the small flow arrow on the body, so it couldn't close after turning the power off (causing seal and core damage). By the way, I connected it to my hot water PPR pipeline with a plastic adapter. The thread seal has no problems, but I have not tried to connect other materials so I can't say more. In addition, the valve does get pretty warm when activated, but that does not affect my use of it (it was installed on a HOT water line). The manufacturers stressed that continuous working for more than 1 hour would shorten the valve's service life, and that it would be better to replace it with an energy-saving or normally open valve. I agree with that. I'm a regular customer. This valve works well in my system and is good quality.

For the price this works. Calculated around 35 watts for the solenoid to open (without water present)

Really heavy duty! Of course, more expensive than the plastic solenoids but this one should last a very long time and is heavy enough (I hope) to withstand freezing temperatures. I hooked this up through a 12 volt car battery, 10 watt solar panel and a voltage regulator with the sprinkler system on a 12 volt 7 day timer also operated by the car battery. Works great. No more manual turning on the garden water daily.

I installed this valve, and used it 2 times to empty a water tank. After the second time the valve only closes half way.

Used as instant air valve for piston for a project in ME design class, worked like a charm. Didn't leak, didn't overly constrict flow. Worked every time. A little on the heavy side for my intended use, but it's not what it was designed for, so I'll still give it five stars.Very beefy, well-made piece.

This valve is being used to meter propane to my upright smoker's burner. Using a PID for temperature control, the valve is automatically switched on/off as required to maintain the set temperature. It works quite well and I am using a 14 volt 1amp power supply without any overheating.Once I add in the pilot safety valve, I won't have to babysit the 16 hour briskets quite so much. For this price it is a great valve.

This works great with my Arduino as part of a coyote alarm/repeller system. As soon as a coyote is detected, the water instantly comes on, scaring the coyote away. I took one star away because it has no easy mounting system. Apparently, it relies upon a secure hose in/hose out connection. I had to make a waterproof box for it and the wiring, and then secure it to the top with zip ties. If I needed to purchase again, I'd buy this unit if I could not find another with a mounting system.
