These vacuum-sealed tanks are installed in the vacuum bagging process between the mold and the vacuum pump to capture excess resin that enters the vacuum line. Resin traps are an integral part of all vacuum infusion and vacuum bagging processes. Our Stainless Steel resin traps come equipped with clear lids that allow you to easily monitor resin accumulation.
NOTE:
- If large amounts of mixed resin remain in the feed pot or accumulate in the catch pot, the resin can become very hot indeed. In extreme circumstances, the resin can actually start smoking as it reaches very high temperatures.
- Keep an eye of the catch pot and wait for the exotherm to die down.
TIPS:
- Apply mold release to all interior surfaces of the resin trap prior to lay-up for easy clean-up once the vacuum process is complete.
- Additional containers can be placed in the large tank to collect the resin.

I'm using this for a fiberglass repair on my boat, and it's been working great. I hooked it up to my OMT vacuum pump, with 1/4 in hose on the outlet, and with a ball valve inline (not included) on the inlet hose. It held a strong vacuum all night when I tested it. Hooked up to my vacuum bagging port, I'm able to use the vacuum chamber as a vacuum reservoir, allowing me to turn of them pump while listening for leaks in the vacuum seal.It also includes a barb on the inside, so if you're using it as a resin trap, you can direct excess resin into a catch-pot inside the chamber.Included in the package was the pre-assembled lid with vacuum gauge, outlet with ball valve and thread for the included orange vacuum hose to the pump, and inlet with 1/4 barb fitting on the inside and outside. It also includes extra seals for the inlet, outlet and vacuum gauge ports.

Purchased this vacuum pot to use in changing fluids in my cars and trucks. When used with a Gast rotary vacuum pump at 26"Hg it will suck out 5 quarts of oil or transmission fluid through the filler tubes in just a few minutes. With the 3 gallon capacity I never have to worry about overflows or getting fluid sucked into my vacuum pump. It eliminates most of the risk of spills on my garage floor and makes changing fluids much easier and cleaner. It will also work great for bleeding brakes and of course degassing epoxy resins as that is what it was designed for. The lid seals well and the pot and fittings seem to be good quality so for the price I consider this a good value.

This product contains no instructions on how to use it, or explains why it comes with 2 different hoses and 3 holes in the lid the current ones they sell just have 1 aparatus that allows air to be removed, and allows air to flow in. This particular one is a waste of money

Upon opening the package I noticed it was Missing the orange hose it’s pictured with above, might want to disclose it doesn’t come with that orange hose if you’re going to have a picture with it

Ordered one of these thinking they forgot the orange vacuum hose to connect to the pump. I started a return and received my second catch can. Each time it’s been missing the same orange hose.

Not sure where the air is leaking from anymore. Shored up every possible spot. What a colossal waste of my money and time.
