I needed a very specific length linkage to convert my 1961 Fuel Injected Corvette to Carburetor. For whatever reason these syle linkages are very expensive for what they do, but this was the least expensive and fastest solution for my application. These worked great and are easy to cut or adjust as needed.

I needed these and could only find them in left hand thread. I wrongly assumed the left hand thread was for the ball and socket part with the included nut. It was unclear, and confusing advertising. The left hand thread is in the female part, and I was unable to obtain any left hand thread rod or even a bolt. I had to drill out the threads and retap in quarter inch right hand thread. Pain in the ass. but it worked.

I was hoping these would provide a way for a 3D printer build plate to be able to pivot in the Z axis for the heater bed. With that in mind I bought these to act as pivot joints on the corners. Of the 4 ball socket joints received, 2 were frozen in a position that required a significant amount of force to make them move. Once unfrozen, they moved very stiffly. The other 2 moved more better but again, did not have fluid movement. The quality of these are very poor, at least the ones I received.

The female threaded hole is undersized so a m5 bolt will not screw into them. They need to be retapped before use. Also, the hole is not straight to the body or inline with the ball.

I dislike the fact that I ordered 4 and received 2.

These 8mm rod ball ends seem reasonable quality to me, the casting, machining and finish are all clean, and the body is fairly chunky. They seem to have around 40 degrees total movement. The threads are very slightly loose (but just very free nut spinning as opposed to properly slack). The balls themselves are nice and snug in the cup with no obvious play.Overall I'd say they aren't super premium, but they seem strong and useful enough for general applications.
