USB-C charging is a standard now the same way micro-USB became a standard so long ago. The fact that you can get a USB-C capable battery for the UV-5R in both the regular and extended version is awesome. I got.this extended version because I had a USB-C regular size battery that came with my UV-5Rx3 but it ballooned after sitting in my car, in direct California sunlight on a 110+ day. Couldn't be happier though. I often forget to turn the radio off and sometimes the battery would drain completely. Now with this extended battery I just leave the radio on with it hooked up to a 5v3a solar panel and it stays charged without any issues. I only wish I upgraded to this sooner. High quality, fit could be a little better but it gets the job done. Secures to the radio without any jiggling, easy to use, easy to install, great value for the money. Performance is outstanding. Capable of receiving for well over a day and sufficient for solar charging.

Awesome upgrade. Battery life is far greater than stock. USB-c charging is so much more convenient for on the go charging. I broke my charging cradle and for a few more dollars got this extended life battery along with the ability to charge almost anywhere now as USB-c has become ubiquitous. May I also mention the onboard led indicator showing the battery charge status. You may also charge this battery independent of the radio. Authentic Baofeng brand battery was a compatible fit with my UV-5TV2+. Love the added length this battery gives my radio. Great design, easy to use, durable battery.

The batteries that come with the BAOFENG UV-5R two-way radios are fine. Don't get me wrong. I like this battery better because it makes the radio longer in length. The radio itself with the included battery is very small which I agree in a lot of ways would be more portable. This longer battery is my personal preference.

I love this battery. The USB C is Awesome to have on it. Runs for days without a charge. My only complaint is that it no longer fit in my Baofeng charging dock. I think there are 2 small plastic pieces on the bottom that won't allow it to fit properly. That's the only reason it has 4 stars. Otherwise absolutely fantastic battery.

The plastic of the radio name didn't allow the battery to seat so I tried to return it. They refunded the money but didn't take the battery back. Not wanting to dispose the lithium battery, I cut out the offending plastic on the battery and now it fits. Seems to work well.

This item is a perfect fit and great to have in situations that the cradle is unaccessible. If you are getting the walkie to prep or just on the go then don't underestimate the use of this battery.

Worked great for one year. Tried to charge it up before a trip this week and the battery is completely dead will not take a charge through the base charger or usb-c. Battery was ~75% charged after last use two weeks prior. Too bad. :(
