Well ..My first impression was Whao! cool! It was mean looking and easy to assemble up to a point. The instruction book is not specific to the item. There IS NO INCLUDED COCKING DEVICE THINGIE AHHH! WTF MAN ...lol.. anyways overall seems extremely well built , the quiver kind of gets in the way a bit, but by no means a deal breaker. Scope is super sweet. It is very sturdy and lightweight. After I get the dam cocking device -.- ..ill follow up, but defiantly worth getting so far, really comfortable with it as a new user.Update: Received the cocking device and tried it out, while it is still fairly hard to cock the thing, it is very powerful, accurate, and I continue to be impressed with it's light, durable and good looking design. I shot a bolt into a tree, and cannot get it back out ..lol ..it very powerful in my opinion. I will need to get a target bag for this reason. In addition I am increasing the rating from 4 to 5 stars , but am still annoyed it did not come with the cocking device as advertised.

Fantastic. Shooting 425 grain bolts/arrows at about 250 fps. Plenty of power to take down a deer and ACCURATE! I'm comfortable taking this out to 30 yards for hunting and 50 for range shooting. Great, great, great deal for the price. Barnett makes great crossbows. The scope I am not in love with but that because I prefer dots to lines. I have a three dot red dot on this and it's fantastic. Shoots just as well as a bow I paid three times as much for.

This is a good beginners crossbow and easy to assembly and use, just 2 bolts as described and the thumb-bolts for the sight to tighten. I have shot a wide variety of crossbows being a member of outdoor club and this is a good quality for the a price. However, the description above has several errors and omissions (as of September 2020, or until they are fixed), according to the box the following are the correct specs:- 250 Feet Per Second, not "260 Feet Per Second"- Axle to axle width of 28" w (uncocked) and 22" (cocked), not "axle to axle width of 22"" (unspecified above)- 2 x 18" Aluminum crossbow arrows are included, not 2 x "20" aluminum arrows"Also, the crossbow DOES NOT include the cocking rope, which is referenced throughout the manual. I figure most folks would want to order one, especially if they don't already have one to use. Be safe and enjoy!

I bought this crossbow (my first one) 2 years ago and I loved it! Since then I've heard a lot of people complaining about the more expensive, high speed crossbows limbs breaking. Last year I hunted with it first time and had zero problems! Not easy, but you can change your own strings, I have! It's a simple, powerful crossbow that you don't need to bring to a bow shop every year!I just bought my second crossbow, same one! Now I have 2, one for backup. Yes, I like it that much!

I’ve had this bow for a couple weeks now, it had overwhelmingly positive reviews here but I immediately noticed an issue. When the bow is cocked and you put a bolt in the bolt does not lie flat down the length of the flight track. About the last couple inches of the bolt is raised up off the track and the tip points slightly left. And it does seem to affect consistent accuracy negatively. After some searching online I found a crossbow forum and apparently this has and continues to be an issue with certain Barnett crossbow models. This model has a brush arrow retainer, I first thought it may be the problem or at least part of it. The anti dry fire mechanism is definitely part of the problem the arrow nock disengages the dry fire mechanism by raising it so the safety can be taken off but it also puts enough pressure on the nock end to raise the front of the arrow up off the track. Once the safety is taken off the nock end pressure is relieved but the arrow still dosent want to lie flat and true in the flight track. Different arrows make no difference so I’m confident it’s not that. Either way I don’t like the brush retainer or the anti dry fire. That anti dry fire is about as useful as a tire pressure monitor on a car. Anyone with an ounce of common sense doesn’t need it and it’s just a pain in the long run.Overall it’s a solid powerful crossbow that’s easy to assemble but the arrow not lying flat and true is a major issue that apparently is common with Barnett crossbows.

I have been hunting my whole life and I’m very knowledgeable when It comes to shooting bows, crossbows and rifles. It took me about 4mins to assemble this cross bow and i got about half that worth of use out of it. After assembly I took it out to zero in the scope it came with; first shot fired fine at 20yrds was shooting about 12.’ Clicks left and 6.’ Clicks low I made the adjustments it needed then took the next shot, it shot fine. Around 3.’ Clicks left and 1.’ Click low… this is where the problem arose after the second shot, I made the final adjustments to the scope. Then went to cock the bow and it absolutely would not cock after several tries i started investigating and found that the the latch was broken… so the moral of the story is.. THE BOW IS TRASH!!

Very good value for the money after comparing with other similarly priced crossbows. This is my first time owning one and I must say I am extremely impressed! The 195lb draw is much higher than the others within similar price range. Packs a punch. Somewhat hard to cock naturally so I got a rope cocking device and it works beautifully. If I had one criticism it would be the location of the side mounted quiver but otherwise a quality crossbow and a great buy!
