We wanted something more than a cheap piece of plastic but not as expensive as a real bongo. This was a great fit for us. Our kids love music and we are serious about helping them develop their talent. Our 2 year old likes to run around and bang on the drum with the provided mallets and our 4 year old is already learning some technique from the games her (professional drummer) uncle is teaching her. She plays with her hands. The drum has a nice sound and is much more attractive and finer quality than anything out there in this price range that we came across.

This drum has a great sound is very well made. It's not a toy so I wouldn't let small children play with it. It's made of wood and the heads are nice quality material. Nice investment over a toy or cheaper version. Worth the money.

This drum was a hit (pun intended) with my 2 yo. It is well made and looks authentic- although I wouldn't leave a young toddler alone to throw it against the walls or jump on it (as I saw him attempt a couple times). He was very happy to put it over his shoulder with the included strap and march around banging on it. We had also received a digital drum which he was quickly disinterested in once he played the bongo!

The size is great and it has a nice sound.The one thing that I was disappointed with is the positioning of the strap. The strap can only be attached so that the drum heads are sideways. I was looking for a drum with a strap that held it with the drum head facing upright.

Missing the grommets as pictures, instead: glue and a few staples. The sound is not bad, the veneer not thick- but is okay. I still think this is a good price for a kids toy that doesn't look cheap, however-- made in Taiwan.

Because of the price I was not expecting too much, but to my surprise this is a fantastic little drum. The drum itself is made of wood, the heads on each side are top notch quality. We put this drum down in front of my 2 year old niece and she grabbed the sticks and went to town, smiling from ear to ear. Everyone in the room got a big kick out of watching her have a blast. I would highly recommend this type of gift over your typical cheap plastic toy.
